Talk about my traditional food of my country

Every tradition in my country has their best food, even their best wine, and also some even have something that is more better than food in their tradition in my country Nigeria.

Nigeria is a blessing to me because we have different kinds of traditional food, each tribe and state have their best food.

What is the traditional food of your country?

The traditional food of my country is Banga soup and this particular soup is derived from delta State, a great state in my country (Nigeria).

A food even foreigner that doesn't even comes from that state loves it because of the way they prepare it, if you meet a good cook, someone who can give you the best Banga soup you will love the soup.

🔸Share the story behind why the food is traditional in your country?

To me I always received different story behind this soup, some people say it show that you are respecting the tradition where you comes from, some people say it gives you a good name in your wedding, some people say it makes people enjoy the wedding when ever they received the food and eat.

Some people even say the food makes village people to pray for you.

For me I see to it as something they like in their tradition and to avoid many trouble and problems just cook it and be free, because some village people don't like rice and beans, they love Banga soup and that only what they are good for to eat.

For me it because of the elders and chief and also village people in my tradition they really like this food, let me just say they can't do without eating this soup a day, they normally pound ripe plantain and eat it with the Banga soup, something they use starch, the one they get from cassava, and also some people use boil cassava they normally pound it and eat it with the Banga soup, while some people use eba or semovita.

I always love this great traditional food of my country because in delta State if you want to do wedding or any occasion you must cook Banga soup for people to eat, in delta State they takes this soup very important for any occasion.

I remember one particular wedding that I attend in delta State and the man is not from delta State but the woman is from the state, they didn't cook this particular soup call Banga, so when people arrived for the wedding and everything was going smoothly until they started sharing food and they give the chiefs Rice and stew and also they give some senior people thesame rice and stew.

This particular stuff makes that wedding scatter, the chief started complaining and they tell everyone to go home, it started like joke people started going home and insults, insulting the couples and their family that what a useless wedding without our traditional food, some people even say they girl have throw away her only traditional because of man, their parents try to beg on behalf of their children but the chief tell them that the apologize is for another day, they walk away, no single soul was left in that wedding area because of Banga soup wedding scatter.

It really surprised me because I haven't seen something like that in my life, that because of one soup they will scatter a full wedding.

The chiefs reported the stuff to the king and the send a message that our attention is needed in the king palace, this particular stuff brings alot of problem in the king palace even as we try to beg the case keep increasing, untill I told them that they should please give us another chance and also they should give us the list of what and what they want and what they didn't want like in terms in tradition food.

The list was given to me and I saw Banga soup at the very top of the list, the both couple set another Saturday for their new wedding and they try their possible best to cook this Banga soup with much spicy and much fish and meat just to satisfy the chiefs.

🔸Summarize what ingredients are needed to make the traditional food.

There are many ingredients needed for my traditional food, and also there are many kinds of my traditional food, we have Banga soup, for the Banga soup there are many ingredients needed they are;

First the Banga fruit, this particular one is very important in making this traditional food, your complete Banga spicy, your fish or meat or ponmo, Maggie and salt very needed and also pepper.
