Steemit Engagement Challenge | S7W6 | The Song of 2022

Hi steemians,
I welcome you all to the last post of my engagement challenge for season 7. I have tried as much as I can to ensure I enter all the contests for this week's challenge. The last one is what I'm presenting today with the title of the song of 2022. I do hope you will enjoy reading my post as I try to answer the few questions that follow. Let's get started.

My favourite song of the year 2022 is Calm Down music by Rema. This music was inspired when the young artist met a girl at a party who stood out from the other girls. He decided to make a move because the lady in question was very captivating. He approached the lady and had a few talks with her and then they started dancing and talking together.

When the friends of the girl saw what was happening, they immediately came to the girl and then started dancing with her and then he was left alone. He was asked to go and bring his friend to dance with. That is when the calm-down inspiration came to him and then he started the song.

He later got the contact phone number of the girl and even after the party, they continued keeping in touch with each other. Their friends at this point couldn't stop them so they calm down finally. The music was released in March 2022.

Rema is the stage name of the singer but his real name is Divine Ikubor. He is a songwriter, singer and rapper here in Nigeria. He was born and Edo state Nigeria and he grew up and attended his primary and secondary school in the same town.

He is a lover of music and for that reason, he joined his church choir. This means that his music career began in the church. After much work and songs in the church, he came in contact with the CEO of Jozingworld Records known as D’Prince who took him up and trained him in the music industry.

He was properly trained and featured in so many songs before he finally released this very favourite music of mine in March 2022.

I'm so impressed by the lyrics of the song. The words used are Nigerian pidgin English and they are quite understandable and straightforward. He used very simple words that everyone who understands pidgin will be able to read and comprehend.

He also presented the message of the song such that anyone listening to it will be able to understand the incident that lead to the release of the song. So the lyrics, the music and the composition of the song were quite beautiful.

The music by Rema is my favourite for the year 2022. I love the lyrics of the song and I enjoyed the message it tries to pass across.
