Greetings, Everyone. I am participating in the Photography Contest Season #01 || "My Town in Ten Pictures." Thank you, @starrchris, for organizing such a lovely contest.
A Diesel Locomotive Workshop is located adjacent to our colony. A few of my close brothers work here. Furthermore, this location is close to our colony, so I visit it frequently. The railroads next to the Diesel shop are not used for passenger trains. These railway lines are used exclusively for oil tanker trains and railway engines. The diesel shed office and loco shed office are located close together. So you can only see oil tanker trains and engines on these railway lines.
One of the most historic events of our nation is the language movement. On February 21, 1952, unarmed students were killed by police during the language movement, a heartbreaking and tragic event for our country. And this monument was built in memory of the martyrs of the language movement. This monument is located next to a residential school
It is very easy to travel from our town to our district or divisional city. Because there are railway lines all around our town and these railway lines have made the transportation system of our town more advanced and dynamic. It is Parbatipur-Dinajpur railway line. With this railway line we can maintain communication with the district town of Dinajpur.
It is located in the abandoned railway area, just a short distance from the railway station. However, some railway lines in this area are still used to divert locomotives. But most of the lines here are abandoned. The railway area in our town is very extensive. Such abandoned places were once active.
Parbatipur Railway Station has total 5 platforms. The first platform is particularly important for passengers. Because most of the mail trains stop at this platform. Again the ticket counter is located with this platform. Besides, important facilities like station master's office, restroom, power supply sub station, mosque etc. are located around the first platform.
Switch cabin office is another important facility in the railway station from where the various signals of the railway line are determined by the switch and the information about which platform the train will enter is published. This facility is located between platform numbers 2 and 3.
Our town has a lot of history as railway operations have been running since the British rule. I heard from the local people here that this is where the railway station used to be. Currently this place is abandoned. This place looks like a stadium could be built here. There are several other abandoned structures in this old railway area.
This beautiful landscape is located behind a primary school located in our area. The Parbatipur-Rangpur railway line passes by this beautiful place. I have been looking at this pond for a long time. It is probably a privately owned pond. Next to this pond is Gulpara Colony, one of the most densely populated colonies in our town.
It is a state resource. Railway relief crane is one of the most important machinery of railways. This railway relief crane was stationed at the end area of the loco shed when I took the picture. The engines are brought to the locoshed for maintenance. These relief cranes are used during train accidents.
The most modern railway workshop of our country is located in Parbatipur Town. This is a special railway monument of our town which is placed in front of the main gate of the Central Locomotive Workshop. Railway engines of the British era were of somewhat similar type. I heard it was made by the engineers of this workshop.
Camera Devices: The first three photos were taken with the Samsung S21 Ultra, the fourth with the Helio 40, and the rest were taken with the Realme C53 smartphone.
