The Canker Sores of Society

Characters:

  • Ahmad (A child of 12, Son of Bashir)

  • Bashir (A man around 35)

There were two holidays from the school so Bashir decided to take Ahmad along him towards Multan as they have to attend the marriage ceremony of Bashir's friend, Gulzar. It was the summer season and the started their journey on a car. When they left the city, they decided to confirm the path towards Multan.

So, Bashir asked a stranger to tell them the exact way towards Multan.

The stranger: This path is peaceful but it is very dangerous.

Bashir turned the car towards the other path.

Then Ahmad asked, why we have changed the path, father?

Bashir replied, son, this path is dangerous so we will adopt the other one.

Ahmad: People are afraid of the dark, but it is the day.

Bashir said, Although it is the day, but this path is very much dangerous.

Ahmad said, Oh! mother also used to say that there are many wild animals that could be dangerous for us just like lions, leopards, wolves, etc. I guess there are wild animals on this path that's why, we have adopted the second one.

Bashir said, no Ahmad, there is no wild life but we just have changed the path because there are many robbers there who robbed a lot of people before.

Ahmad said, Oh, so those robbers must be the wild animals.

Bashir (with deep breath): No son, those are the human.

Ahmad (after a second): Dangerous, and human?

Bashir: Keep silence Ahmad. No more questions. I have to pay attention towards driving.

After some time, they entered a famous and highly populated market of the city. They entered the marketplace and started shopping and eating different things. During the shopping, Ahmad seen a sentence written on the wall, "Beware of the pick-pocket!"

Ahmad asked his father, Papa who are the pick-pocket?

Bashir: Son they are the robbers who cut our pockets and steal our money and precious items.

Ahmad: Oh, so the pick-pocket must be the wild animals, Right?

Bashir: Keep silence Ahmad, don't ask such stupid questions.

Ahmad: Please papa, tell me, they are the wild animals, Right?

Bashir (with deep breath): No, those are also the humans.

Ahmad (with suspicious voice): Pick-pocket and Humans!

They entered a fruit shop and buy two KG apples. And then, they started seeing some other fruits to buy. And then,

The shopkeeper said, Hurry up! I have to go to the mosque for prayer. I am getting late.

They buy one KG pomegranate and then left the shop. Ahmad was looking sad. So, Bashir asked him, why you are sad, Ahmad?

Ahmad replied, I also want to buy a magnet from the shopkeeper uncle.

Bashir (with strange views): But Ahmad, it is the fruit shop, not the Magnet shop.

Ahmad: But papa, I saw the magnet when I sat down to pick up some apples from the ground.

Bashir: Where? Stupid, it must be your misunderstanding, this is a fruit shop, not an electric store.

Ahmad: Believe me Papa, I have seen a magnet at the bottom of the measuring pot which was placed on the measurements machine.

Bashir (with anger): Silent Ahmad! Now, don't ask me such stupid questions.

Ahmad: But our teacher used to say, asking questions is not a sin.

Bashir is quite.

When they were leaving the market, Ahmad saw a sentence written on the board, "Beware, you must have to manage the security of your vehicle by yourself." Ahmad wanted to ask something from his father, but keep silence. Off course, He understood the answer already.

When they reached the marriage hall, Ahmad was observing everything with great care and attention. When Ahmad saw that the poor are sitting on the ground, outside the marriage hall and the rich were sitting inside the hall with great protocols and eating dishes with great delight. Then, he wanted to ask something again.

Ahmad: Papa, why these poor people are sitting outside on the ground?

Bashir saw towards him with anger and asked him to keep silence with hard words.

Ahmad is silent...

Reflections of the Novel

  • The people who ask questions are either those who know everything or those who didn't know any thing.

  • When the innocent people ask the true questions in the destroyed society, they have to face the hard words and anger.

What'a an amazing story that you have shared dear brother @steemdoctor1 .Yes you're right when the innocent and the good persons asked the question of this corrupt peoples of the society they have to face difficulties and hard words. This story explained soo many things and firstly we have to change ourself and then we can do better in the society. If each and every person work truly then we will a great society which will be very beneficial for us and thansk again for sharing with us ❤️

Thank you so much for your precious comment ☺️

One of the most beautiful writing on the current situations, done by you. Ahmad understood now, what's the world is. But yeah we can see it will take much time to understand the world as he now didn't meat with those wild animals who talk sweet in front of us, but do bad with us in back of us. And much more.

Here is Reflections of the Novel: We ourselves are doing very bad so we have made our societies, cities and country a wild animal's Society. All of those who do these kind of bad activities, Ahmad is right they are wild animals or more than that.
Great writing I didn't felt bored, so I wanna ask for second part and then the third.

Thank you so much Basit bhai for the appreciations. I will surely try my best to publish the parts.
