Rain and me are not a great combination
I can't remember if rain ever made me happy like in the children's book 'Jip and Jannneke' written by Annie MG Smidt.
An umbrella may be useful, but when it rains it is often accompanied by strong winds. Ever tried to keep an umbrella intact under these weather circumstances? Cycling with an umbrella is also disappointing, so it is better to wear a rain cape or rain suit.
A few weeks ago I found a rainsuit at the giveaway store. I put the pants over my clothes so they don't get muddy. I rarely wear the jacket because I have another one, especially for rainy, muddy days.
another broken umbrella
If it rains I never really know where to put wet clothes, muddy boots and a soaking wet umbrella. Sometimes I just leave the umbrella outside and the rest leaks out at the door. Not ideal but the result of limited space.
I feel it days before it starts raining
My face starts to hurt. Maybe it's the difference in air pressure? In any case, I don't need the weather forecast, my face predicts whether it will rain. Once it rains, the pain goes away.
Unlike @miswarofficiall, I don't dance in the rain. The rain, the water, hurts my face so I have to keep it covered. Someone once said that if trees die from acid rain, it is not surprising that my skin suffers from it.
Nowadays I no longer live in a city, so I will certainly be less bothered by air pollution. I don't hear many people talking about acid rain these days. When it comes to the environment, there is always another disaster to worry about. To be honest, I don't. I am convinced that nature will take care of itself. Most nature-friendly solutions that governments come up with actually harm the environment many times more.
Do I mind if it rains?
Definitely not, it doesn't make me depressed if I can stay indoors. Nothing is as pleasant as hearing the rain on the roof while I'm sitting dry inside. By dry I mean dry, no rain inside. I have had the ceiling above my bed fall and rainwater flow down the walls. To solve that I drilled a hole in the ceiling so that the rainwater that was on the ceiling could drain out. This leak was the result of a sloppily made roof. I was lucky to notice a hole above the outside wall which I filled with a plastic bag and some rocks which solved the leaking.
leakage stains
Once again I have leakage stains in the wall above the stove and near the door. When winter is over I'll treat the walls with bleach so that it looks white again and mould will have no chance. For now, I won't do anything, because it will leak again.
How to kill those rainy days?
The best thing is if I can stay inside and pamper myself. A pot of tea (rooibos, an herbal tea or with ginger), a cup of hot aniseed milk or chocolate milk at hand, a blanket wrapped around me, while writing, watching a film or reading.
By the way, I mainly watch films around December. As soon as the weather gets better I rather spend time outside. When the temperature rises, if the sun shines, I prefer to be outside and absorb the warmth and light. That really cheers me up, the more sun the better, maybe it's the lack of vitamin D3?
As soon as it rains more often and it gets colder, consuming lighter meals such as lettuce, cucumber and tomato is over. I cook more often.
I prefer to eat something hot rather than cold, simply because hot food keeps my body warmer. I also think I can digest cooked food better than raw. The meals during this time of the year are more spicy and there are also many one-pot dishes with rice, couscous or potatoes. I also make soup such as chicken soup, tomato soup or a hearty pea soup, although pea soup is less popular now than in previous years because the gas in the bottle is expensive and does not burn well.
I also eat rice porridge with cinnamon or oatmeal porridge. Both are easy to make and don't cost much.
cherry liquer and cake wit raisins
Two years ago I made cherry liqueur (cherries, sugar, cinnamon and water) and this year there is another jar that will soon be bottled and can be drunk next winter or I save it as a present.
I hope to make poppy syrup again around May because the last syrup from 2018 has been used lately. Poppy syrup is good for fighting a sore throat, coughing, but also soothing and a sleeping aid.
Except for writing and reading to me, rainy days are also nice for extensive cooking and baking, crocheting, knitting and of course the desired extra nap or longer night rest.

Finally, my friend or relative from afar has joined this contest. It's nice to see you taking part.
It's nice to be able to read articles from you, but my friend doesn't really like showering in the rain because it causes pain. It's different from me who likes playing in the rain and even dancing heheheh.😁
Hopefully in this contest we will be successful, my friend.☺️

Well, we can go outside together. I use the umbrella while you dance for me in the rain. After you're done we can enjoy some comfort food and everything will be good.
Perhaps your rain is warmer?
👋🍀❤️

I love cold days much more than wicked sunny days,so it is safe to say I love rain. I used to love being under the rain. But I am older now, wiser and that fever by the corner ain't for me 😔. When you are free will like to know more about how to make poppy syrup and that liqueur, you mean,it stays for years? that is super cool. Measurements and all will be needed let me try when I am Free and in need of what to do. Again lovely post friend

You have to wait a few months till the dust will be washed away.
Autumn is the most rainy period (September 21st -November), next winter (so far so good) so I'm looking forward to spring and better summer (a thunderstorm is not so bad andmostly at night, worse are those rainy days during summer which stop if it's bedtime 🥴).
Not that mother nature cares about the dates humans decided the next season starts.

Nature should be left alone but no,we just don't listen always wanting to change things which end up with a disastrous effect.

To me rain is not positive or warm, the best thing is to stay inside. With you I am not sure because it is written a bit chaotic.

When I hear the word rainy season, it comes to my eyes more and more. It rains slowly throughout the day, but I don't like the rainy season so much. Thank you for inviting me to such a beautiful contest. Wish you all the best.
