My Mother Is My Life

Hello, steem4bloggers... it is my pleasure writing in the community again. This is a topic that allows for personal creativity, and most of us at one point or the other would have excellent memories and content to share about our mothers. Here is my submission.

Mom Like No Other

🤶 Share your comments about your mother

How can I joke with someone who had me in my bellies for over 38 weeks during pregnancy? Impossible! It is indeed a wonderful gift, having come out from her. For some of us who are still privileged to have one, it is an honor. For some of us too who stay with our mother either because of separation concerns or the death of a spouse, we are still honored to have one.

My mother is the epitome of an all-around mentor and role model. She represents the world to me and as the earth still tries, so do I wish her life. She let down her quest for self and material things to raise us after the demise of her husband. I could remember countless circumstances where to make us better off outweighed her gains.

A disciplinarian to the core and without reservation. Any African citizen (especially from Nigeria) would understand when you have a teacher as your mother. There is barely anything you would do that she does know both at home and things concerning school. Timely execution and living up to expectations were great watchwords. Not living morality in the woods. She shaped and made sure we imbibed all needed courtesy required at all fronts.

Writing about her would be an essay as there are 1001 things to comment about her. I could remember when she stood her ground that we would all go to quality and valuable schools right from primary school days to secondary school, against the wishes of my uncles who just wanted us to attend some cheap and less quality schools. She understood the value of education and ensured we got the basic foundation of it after the bachelor's degree she handed to everyone.

My Role Model

I could remember how many times I was rebuked when I tried keeping female friendships. She didn't just want me to engage in one when I wasn't ripe for such. She kicked against this several and I was uncomfortable with this then. But, when I look back now, I will say it paid off for me having followed her tracks and advice. There is time for everything and this guided me right.

🤶 How much do you love your mother? Share the feeling.

I love my mother to the moon. What else can I pay her back with after the multi-billion value she inculcated in me? The sacrifices she made just to ensure I am who I am today are worth the love and care from me.

On her 7th floor (70s) in life, she is still strong and energetic and this is what we prayed for to God Almighty to allow her to enjoy the fruit of her labor. She sowed vigorously in us while growing up and now she is old and retired, it is on us to allow her to reap vigorously as well.

She is currently on vacation where she is resting and enjoying her new environment. One of the least we wished for her once life was sustained. It is our lovely prayer that bonds with all her grandchildren and also has a handshake with her great-grandchildren.

🤶 Does your mother have any expectations? Which have you done or will do?

Life is full of expectations. When one is achieved, another one comes up. But in all, we have to keep handling them stage by stage. But there is one thing we expect from every African woman from this side of West Africa.

Every mother who has nurtured her children would want them to have a full settlement of life. This starts from getting married, be it a boy or girl child. She expects this should.be done immediately once it's ripe. Remember that they still long to have their grandchildren early enough but in a legitimate way.

Presently, due to the circumstances we find ourselves in, the growing hardship, decaying economy, and insecurity, she seriously wants relocation to other places that have little or no indices for such. It is still in the process, and this will also be surmounted as we proceed.

🤶 Regarding others' mothers, give your advice to everyone

When we consider some of the problems we see or hear about the troubles coming from mothers-in-law, it is unfortunate that some mothers still have handedness in exerting their silent authority. We have to allow others to also experience motherhood but rather inculcate good and kind virtues rather than causing mayhem and unrest.

Mothers are role models and should be exemplary instead. In doing so, they should allow the opinions of those they guide when it's right rather than trying to leave our lives through them. Some mothers who couldn't achieve some of their aspirations would want to force it down on either their children or daughters-in-law.

As elder statesman, they should be wisdom-filled and always toe the line of guidance to their younger ones.

Thank you.
