Month End Feast
I'm on a health and fitness journey that has seen a fair bit of success. Just two months ago, I was effectively obese and now I'm just slightly overweight. I now the measures are all relative and, for someone my height and bone structure, I'm probably just the right weight now, but I do want to increase the percentage of my bodyweight that's muscle and reduce the percentage that's fat.
I've attacked the process in 3 ways; low-carb nutrition, intermittent fasting and exercise. The exercise is in the form of long walks and the intermittent fasting is exactly what it sounds like - fasting intermittently :)
Low-carb food on the other hand involves not eating white rice, potatoes, bread, sugar or any processed food. The first two days are quite hard, but I find it easier if fasting is done first. Nowadays, I don't even feel hungry at all and have to remind myself to eat.
Now and again, however, I do do a celebration feast where I consume as much carb as I want. Being the last day of the month, yesterday, I had one of such feasts. However I still didn't overdo it with the carbs. Plantains are high carb but also high in roughage, so they're actually ok to eat. I also had some good turkey and fish (different meals obviously) :)
Peace & Love,
Adé
