My little turtle eats spinach

Good morning!

Today I want to introduce my little turtle, is now two years old. It's as big as the palm of my hand.

We named her "Tarta", actually I don't know if it's a boy or a girl because I can't figure out how to verify it! I have to show it to someone who knows!

Tarta was an unexpected gift. In my grandmother's garden there are two turtles who come and go, because they pass under a fence and arrive from the countryside, but they have settled there probably because it's cooler in the summer, with the fact that she waters the garden and there is always fresh vegetables to eat.

However one day while cleaning the garden we found two tiny turtles under the leaves! Unfortunately one of them died, so we decided to take the other one and put it in a box to protect it in winter. It is a large cardboard box filled with soil and leaves which I placed on a balcony sheltered from rain and wind.

Tarta has been hibernating all winter and woke up a few weeks ago, now it's time to eat to get her strength back and then we'll take her back to my grandmother garden because I don't have one in my house.

It is greedy for lettuce, tomato and watermelon. But this time I had nothing else and I tried a spinach leaf, she likes it a lot!

I wonder if, once in the big garden, she will stay there or go to the countryside, passing under the fence to explore.
