Living on the beautiful island of Phuket for over 10 years has given me the chance to discover some of its best-kept secrets. While most visitors come here for the stunning beaches and turquoise waters, Phuket has so much more to offer like hidden gems tucked away from the usual tourist spots. Today, I’d like to share one of these places with you: Ao Por Good View Cafe'.

This charming cafe and restaurant sits perched on a hill overlooking the serene Ao Por Pier and the breathtaking Andaman Sea. It’s a place where locals and savvy travelers come to unwind, enjoy delicious food, and take in the panoramic views of the ocean. Whenever I need a break from the busier parts of the island, this is where I go to reconnect with nature and relax.

Come along with me as I take you on a tour of this hidden gem, where great food, friendly faces, and stunning scenery come together to create the perfect escape in Phuket.

As we approached the cafe, we spotted it perched gracefully atop a hill, surrounded by lush greenery swaying gently in the breeze. The entrance was adorned with vibrant flowers in full bloom, and the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee welcomed us before we even stepped inside.

We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, their bright smiles instantly making us feel welcome. They guided us to our table, and we chose to sit outside on the terrace, which had the relaxed feel of a bar. The cool breeze and fresh sea air enveloped us, leaving us invigorated and ready to enjoy the day ahead.

We settled comfortably into our seats and ordered some refreshing drinks to quench our thirst. As we sipped, we couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the panoramic view of the Andaman Sea, stretching endlessly to meet the horizon, a view so breathtaking, that it felt like time stood still.

As I wandered through the outdoor area of "Ao Por Good View Cafe'," I was awestruck by the breathtaking scenery. The vast expanse of the sea was so stunning that I instinctively reached for my camera to capture the moment. Along the way, I stumbled upon a beautiful garden brimming with exotic flowers and plants. The vibrant colors, framed by the sparkling sea in the background, created a truly picturesque scene. I couldn’t resist taking photo after photo, trying to capture the essence of both the garden’s charm and the tranquil ocean view.

As I continued exploring, I stumbled upon a charming pavilion with a breathtaking view of the surrounding islands. Lush greenery framed the space, while the gentle sea breeze made it the perfect spot to unwind. I sat on a bench, letting the serene atmosphere wash over me as I took a moment to soak in the natural beauty all around.

When the food arrived, we couldn’t help but admire the beautiful presentation. The dishes looked as delicious as they smelled, and we were eager to dive in.

I had ordered the steamed squid with lemon, and from the very first bite, the burst of flavor blew me away. The squid was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of zesty tang from the lemon, making each bite a delightful experience.*

Our son's pineapple-baked rice was a hit, and he couldn't stop raving about it.

The watermelon smoothie was refreshing and had the perfect balance of sweetness.

As a lover of Thai dessert, I couldn’t resist ordering Bualoy with Taro and Young Coconut for dessert. This traditional treat consists of soft, sticky rice flour balls cooked in coconut milk and served in a sweet syrup made from coconut cream and palm sugar.

From the very first bite, I was transported to a delightful fusion of sweet and savory flavors. The chewy texture of the sticky rice balls perfectly complemented the silky coconut cream syrup, creating a beautiful balance. Not overly sweet, the harmonious blend of flavors made this dessert a truly satisfying experience.

My son’s chocolate cake was just as delightful, with its rich, decadent chocolate and perfectly moist texture. It struck the ideal balance of sweetness, making it an irresistible treat for any chocolate lover.

As we savored our desserts, we continued to take in the breathtaking views around us. The gentle sea breeze was refreshing, and the endless blue sea stretched out to meet the horizon. In that moment, we felt completely relaxed and content, enjoying the perfect harmony between delicious food and stunning scenery.

After finishing our desserts, we took some time to stroll through the garden and explore the surrounding area. The garden was the perfect place to unwind, offering a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of Phuket. I couldn’t resist taking more photos, trying to capture every detail and angle of the breathtaking scenery.

Our time at Ao Por Good View Cafe' was nothing short of magical. From the delicious food to the breathtaking views and the warm hospitality of the staff, every moment felt special. It’s places like this that make me love living on this beautiful island and remind me that Phuket has so much more to offer than beaches alone.
