[Macro Photography Challenge] & [MACRO on the table]

in hive-109690 •  8 months ago

Hi friends, funny thing came up. The topic was started in the Dream Steem community about stories of things, then photos of stuff on the desktop transformed into a [small macro contest](https://steemit. com/hive-185836/@bambuka/sontest-macro-on-the-table) in the [WOX] community(https://steemit.com/trending/hive-185836) and now the same desktop trivia is taking part in the macro contest of the [CCS] community(https://steemit.com/trending/hive-109690).

This is the kind of vinaigrette or hodgepodge I got. It shows how much we have in common here.

And now I want to compare two variants of shooting MACRO with different techniques.

First of all, I took a small souvenir from the table. This diving helmet reminds me of my professional youth. To understand its size, the helmet is placed on a cut champagne cork. My second table suddenly turned out to be free from all kinds of trifles, so I moved my experiments to it.

To begin with, I took a smartphone in my hands and took a couple of shots. First shot in normal "photo" mode from close range.

Then I set it to "macrophotography" mode and took the second shot.

For this purpose, the distance to the object should be no more than 5 cm (for Galaxy M31)

I'll note that the subject is not exactly advantageous for macro photography. It has reflective surfaces that are ready to give glare. That is ... for the best quality it is necessary to choose the appropriate lighting.

Then, without changing the angle, I tried to shoot the same subject on the camera.
First photo in normal mode with a focal length of 28 mm (about the same as a smartphone).

Then I put a macro ring between the lens and the camera.

The photo editor shows that the focal length is 31mm, but it's not. I can't measure it somehow though.

Comparing smartphone and camera shots ... I don't find much difference. If you zoom the photo to 100%, it is noticeable that the detail from the camera is better.

Both series are shot handheld without a tripod. So, micro camera shake is not excluded.
Already mentioned that the subject with light reflecting surfaces is not the best either.

The next series will be made according to stricter rules.
This is to have something to compare with.

All photos are clickable, I recommend turning on night mode for viewing

Все фотографии кликабельны, для просмотра рекомендую включить ночной режим.
