Hello My Friends
Welcome to my daily food diary post here on Steemit. I am doing exactly what I did yesterday, which today I will share my meal here but it is not a heavy or real meal. In Indonesia we don't say we have eaten our lunch or dinner if it is not a rice based meal, however I am still not in mood to eat rice. Here what I have today:
This is called as Lumpia Semarang. Lumpia is Spring Roll in English, and Semarang is the capital city of Central Java. As you can guest, the name indicates that this Spring Roll is coming from Semarang.
Spring roll has thin skin and that makes people here love to overcook them into some crispy layer, except for this Lumpia Semarang. In past, they gained popularity because they made the skin soft so you could easily cut them.
In general, Lumpia Semarang comes with a sweet sauce, green hot peppers and some pickles. What inside the spring rolls varies a lot, but the original one and the most selling one is still this one, Bamboo Shoots. Some people can not eat bamboo stink because it is smelly. Some people even say that bamboo shoots smells like an urine. Luckily that doesn't work on me, so I can still eat bamboo shoots without having unpleasant experience.
