Welcome to my Steemit Food Daily Blog which I update my food blog regularly almost everyday. Today I am sharing you guys what I had a few days ago for my lunch. It is called Tongkol Balado.
Tongkol is one of most famous saltwater fish in Indonesia, they are found everywhere across the sea. In english, we call Tongkol as Mackerel, a small species of Tuna Fishes. This fish has a cheap price however most people here prefer chicken and egg because they do not like cheap seafood.
Balado is a cooking recipe from Minang Cuisine or people here call that as Masakan Padang. A Balado mean that the meat or the fish will be styr-fried again with a mix of hot and spicy sauce. That sauce is made of red hot chili pepper, shallot, garlic, tomato, and some other ingredients which differs from people and region.
That's why even people selling the same balado, let say this Tongkol Balado, each Nasi Padang Stall will have a bit different of taste, a different in level of spiciness and many more. So I find this fact is interesting one
