Food Diary #078 | Grilled Catfish

Hi friends

Today I had a cat fish as my lunch. Cat fish is a popular fish here, many people eat cat fish at night or as dinner. Most popular dish for catfish is Pecel Lele, or fried cat fish. It is a simple deep fried cat fish with some chili sauce which we call it Sambal. We eat this cat fish with some raw vegetable.

However it was not pecel lele that I had earlier. I got a grilled catfish from some Padang Rice Outlet. I know some of you think why I keep getting my lunch from Restoran Nasi Padang / Padang Rice Outlet. I like it's simplicity, and it is very fast without having to wait a long queue. The price is reasonable and they have strong flavor.

From those two shots, I guess you already know that my dish was very spicy. The grilled cat fish was covered with red paste which was a mix of red chili and some coconut meat. The other part was a mix stir-fried of Tempeh (soy cake) with some salted small fishes.

The taste is great, but I won't eat this daily even the price is very reasonable. I find that Cat Fish although has a good taste, we can easily get bored of it if we eat them too often.
