Hello dear friends. In my previous posts I mentioned my night tour in Fuengirola. This time I'd like to share with you the photos I took during my daytime visit to this beautiful town. Fuengirola is a charming town located in Spain's Costa del Sol region. It boasts amazing beaches and a pleasant atmosphere where you can enjoy sunny days, run along the sandy shores. And swim in the sea.

When I first saw this town I was impressed by its vibrant colors. The lively atmosphere instantly drew me in. Visiting its historical sites and to take in the magnificent views is also very enjoyable for me. Among the historical sites you can find old Roman baths and ruins, offering a journey back in time. Bioparc Fuengirola stands out as a zoo where you can get up close to a variety of animals. And you can savor local flavors at restaurants in Fuengirola that serve fish and seafood. The town also offers various activities such as golf courses, horseback riding and amusement parks. Fuengirola is a place where I can always find something enjoyable to do.

I saw that this town attracts tourists from all over Europe. The city is located just 35 kilometers from Málaga, nestled in a bay surrounded by the Sierra de Mijas mountains. Long ago Italian fishermen were granted permission to fish 27 kilometers away from Málaga. Their small boats were called "girola" and the fleet of many boats was referred to as "fuente de girolas" meaning "fountain of boats" Over time this name evolved into Fuengirola.

Throughout its history Fuengirola has managed to maintain the charm of an old fishing village while blending modern life with comfortable hotels and shopping centers. The city has a population of 72000 and a quarter of that consists of foreigners, especially visitors from Scandinavia, Morocco and Argentina.

The nearest airport to the town is in Málaga located 26 kilometers away. You can easily reach Málaga and Torremolinos via suburban trains. The cost of a taxi to Málaga is approximately 26-31 EUR, while buses or trains range between 5-12 EUR. The beaches are considered among the best in Spain, with some of Fuengirola's beaches being very crowded, while others are quieter and more family-friendly. The hotels in the city are mostly located along Santa Amalia Beach. There are no five-star hotels in Fuengirola, most are small hotels. Many of the hotels also feature casinos and gaming machines.

Fuengirola offers plenty of shopping opportunities from cafes and bars to modern shopping centers, there’s a wide variety of options. And there are large markets and various shops open on weekdays. My favorite spot is the 7 kilometer long Paseo Marítimo, a seafront promenade filled with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants.
