on important role of mushrooms / #club100

Autumn is the time of mushrooms, always the peak of the season. All of September was very mild, warm, with a lot of rains - which is a perfect condition for mushrooms speed growing. So, they matured and wait in the forest for the quiet hunters to come.

In autumn, nature “dies”, everything that grew begins to decompose, shrivel, lose its green color; the smell of decomposition is all around... oh that sweetish autumn smell of withering! for the mushrooms this means a feast, as their duty is the dead biomass recycling, they decompose dead wood and foliage, -- and this is an important ecological niche.

The mushrooms seem like weak midgets compared to the huge carcass of a mighty giant fallen to the ground - it will take a dozen years or more, but in the end they will defeat him, only memories will remain from the tree trunk ... and my photos :)
