Dusk in the Fisherman's Village, Capturing the Light in the Lens Frame

Entering the beginning of 2025, the rainy season has begun to say goodbye in almost all parts of Indonesia, including where I live. Although there are still occasional drizzles, the intensity has greatly reduced. The sky is slowly clearing up again, giving me the opportunity to hunt for beautiful moments with my camera lens.

Memasuki awal tahun 2025, musim hujan mulai berpamitan di hampir seluruh wilayah Indonesia, termasuk di tempat tinggal saya. Meski masih ada rintik hujan sesekali, intensitasnya sudah jauh berkurang. Langit perlahan kembali cerah, memberikan kesempatan bagi saya untuk kembali berburu momen indah dengan lensa kamera.

As usual, when the weather is good, I always look for interesting objects to capture. This time, my steps took me to a fishing village, a place where life continues to beat in a unique rhythm. There, the fishermen seemed busy with their activities—some were repairing their nets, preparing their boats, or even preparing to go to sea.

Seperti biasa, saat cuaca mendukung, saya selalu mencari objek menarik untuk diabadikan. Kali ini, langkah saya membawa ke sebuah perkampungan nelayan, tempat di mana kehidupan terus berdenyut dalam ritme yang khas. Di sana, para nelayan tampak sibuk dengan aktivitas mereka—ada yang memperbaiki jaring, menyiapkan perahu, atau bahkan sudah bersiap melaut.

This afternoon, the sky was so clear, although it was still decorated with thin clouds that blocked the perfect full moon that I had hoped for. However, that was not a problem. The sun that slowly descended to the western horizon actually presented a magical golden light. I stood on the edge, camera in hand, ready to capture the beauty of the twilight that was taking place.

Sore ini, langit begitu jernih, meski masih dihiasi awan tipis yang menghalangi purnama sempurna yang saya harapkan. Namun, itu bukan masalah. Matahari yang perlahan turun ke ufuk barat justru menghadirkan cahaya keemasan yang begitu magis. Saya berdiri di tepian, kamera dalam genggaman, siap menangkap keindahan senja yang tengah berlangsung.

From a distance, I saw a fisherman throwing a net into the sea. His silhouette combined with the reflection of the sun that shone on the surface of the water, creating a very dramatic composition. Although the fisherman is not very clear in my photo frame, because my back is facing the sun, the dark shadow contrasting with the twilight light gives a unique impression.

Dari kejauhan, saya melihat seorang nelayan melempar jaring ke laut. Siluetnya berpadu dengan refleksi matahari yang berpendar di permukaan air, menciptakan komposisi yang begitu dramatis. Meski nelayan itu tak begitu jelas dalam bingkai foto saya, karena saya membelakangi matahari justru bayangan gelap yang kontras dengan cahaya senja memberikan kesan tersendiri.

The day is getting late, the sky changes from orange to bluish purple. The sun slowly disappears behind the horizon, leaving a trace of warmth that seems to still be felt. It's time for me to go back. But before that, let me share some of the shots from this photography trip.

Hari semakin larut, langit berubah dari jingga ke ungu kebiruan. Matahari perlahan menghilang di balik cakrawala, meninggalkan jejak kehangatan yang seolah masih terasa. Saatnya saya kembali. Tapi sebelum itu, izinkan saya berbagi beberapa hasil jepretan dari perjalanan fotografi kali ini.
