Hello friends, let's take you to see another kind of Thai cultural art that is shared and similar in ASEAN countries. However, the appearance may be slightly different, whether it is Indonesia, Cambodia, or Laos, which is Nang Talung, which is a story told through characters made from cows, carved into various characters, so it is called Nang Talung. In Thai, the word Nang can be translated into two meanings: the material used to make the carvings is cow skin, so it is called Nang, or another meaning is Nang, which means film.

Nang Talung in Thailand is found in many areas. In each area, such as the South, the characters are one to one and small. There will be a puppeteer behind a screen with neon lights, so the audience in front sees the shadow of the character and tells stories that are both ancient and modern, which are up to date with current political events.

As for Nang Talung in the Central region in Ratchaburi Province, the puppets are large and have stories in the puppets, not one to one characters. The main story used is the Ramakien. The puppeteer must use one person per puppet, which is different from the South. Where one puppeteer will puppeteer every character, including the lead singer and voice actor, but the shadow puppetry at Wat Khanon, Ratchaburi, will have one person singing or acting as the puppet, and the puppetry will be performed in front of a cloth screen. The fire behind it, if it is the original type, will be a fire using wood, which is a coconut shell, behind the screen to show the details of the puppet on the screen, and the puppeteer will have to move his body to show the gestures according to the story as well.

The shadow puppetry at Wat Khanon will be visited by tourists, both government agencies and various organizations that come as groups, or the general public, who will come to visit, which has a museum and allows tourists to make small puppets as souvenirs to take home.
