A few days ago forests were rich in wildlife in Bangladesh. But over time, as the population increases, the forests are being deforested, and gradually the forests are decreasing. And with habitat destruction, various wildlife is becoming extinct and some are threatened with extinction. The causes of wildlife extinction are described below-
Some people are indiscriminately hunting wild animals for their hobby. As a result, the number of wild animals is decreasing day by day. Thus indiscriminate killing is one of the causes of wildlife extinction in Bangladesh.
Another reason for the extinction of wildlife in Bangladesh is unnecessary anxiety. Most people in this country consider wild animals as dangerous and poisonous. So they should be killed as soon as they are seen. It is important to avoid this kind of belief. Due to these reasons, the number of wild animals is decreasing day by day.
An unscrupulous business group is reducing our animal population at an alarming rate by exporting wild animals on a large scale or killing them for their skins, fat, feathers, horns, teeth, etc.
Forests are being destroyed due to the creation of agricultural fields to feed the growing population, the development of transport systems, the construction of roads, the construction of new settlements for safe housing, etc.
As a result, the number of wild animals is also becoming limited and due to a lack of food shelter, and habitat, wild animals are disappearing from this country.
Forest is constantly being destroyed in our country without any plan. Wildlife is becoming homeless. This wildlife is migrating or dying in search of food and safe shelter. And thus the wildlife of Bangladesh is going towards extinction.
For the regional development of the entire country, all the river valley projects, water power projects, dam projects, etc. have been launched as a direct result of deforestation, inundation of large areas, and extinction of wildlife. After the construction of the Kaptai Dam and Karnaphuli Paper Mill, the number of elephants has decreased alarmingly.
Every animal on earth belongs to any of the food chains. Therefore, when an animal or plant in a food chain becomes extinct, other animals in the food chain suffer.
In the context of Bangladesh, the food chain is becoming unbalanced due to the extinction of numerous species of animals. As a result, wildlife is disappearing. The whole world is suffering from wildlife extinction.
