I wonder if you made a calculation of what has to be done. First priority is a new roof and the question is if it can be placed on the existing construction (mine it wood) or that should be replaced too.

In my bedroom the ceiling came down on my mattress a plus was I wasn't home.

After the roof was done (by now 3 times and parts still leak) the rainwater poured from the ceiling and the wall of my son's bedroom. For some reason rainwater was stored there. All I could do is drill a hole and let it out. I discovered a hole outside underneath the roof which caused it. I filled it with a plastic bag and the problem was solved.

The new ceiling in the bathroom shows leakes and cracks and so it does behind the entrance and in the kitchen. Bad work and expensive.

My question is if it is wise to renovate or find a better place where you have easier access to the hospital and your parents can live a better life without the stress of weather circumstances bringing extra burden.

It can be siblings, family have a family of their own but one hand should wash another plus I do believe in the power of family helping out.

It sounds to me your father supported a lot and it would be a decent thing if those who picked the fruits also give a share.

Just like you I have to admit I can not call one person I gave a hand to come to my aid (an exception are my children).

The ceilings look bad but it's also dangerous to leave the parts hang there. Is there someone who can remove it? If it comes down and hits your neck...

The door looks familiar. It's dangerous if it hurts your legs. The losen parts should be removed and perhaps a rubber mat can be attached to it. It can endure water and be cleaned plus it makes the door look better and works against draft (i had someone sew off a part of the bottom of the door). Now one of my doors is out of steel and the other "plastic" both also have their minuses if it comes to cold winters though they feel warm if the sun shines on it and can withstand water and mud.

If I understand it well the rainwater goes nowhere and remains around the house with the result it floods it?
Is it an option to dig a "canal" that leads to a "pond" (a hole where the water can flow to)? It might be a solution although the leaking roof has to be repaired.
The living doesn't look good either and a humid place will increase health issues.

I wonder: Did you ever ask the family for help?
I learned that if you always rely on yourself those around you believe you will always manage and find a way. They do not realize you have a hard time making ends meet.

Blessings to you and your parents.
I learned solutions show themselves if we recognize them.

I hope you feel good and have time to relax.
Thank you for taking the time to reply and sharing your life with me.

Hi @wakeupkitty @steemcurator04

Repairing the damages in the roofing would siphon-off the possible funds for the new house that I am planning to achieve with God's mercy. So there is a dilemma there as my mother says that if we would do repair the roof, then the ceiling must be repaired too and if those would be repaired, the flooring must be raised because of the flooding problem when it rains.

Then we have to raise the walls of the house prior to changing the half-eaten by rust corrugated steel roof and a possible application of insulator with it because this house is like a warm oven when the Sun is blaring hot particularly with the hot and dry months of March to May.

If the walls will not be raised and the flooring would be raised, we will be like giants in this house with the roof just a few feet from our heads considering that again when it gets hot, the ceiling also gets hot. I do not have any idea about the cost of a possible renovation but what I know is that labor cost will cost as equal to the materials or more if the workers would work slow or better if it is done via contract.

About wanting to live somewhere else, it is out of the question because we cannot live either with my other siblings because we will not have enough room and besides, they all had gone to live far away if not living with their in-laws except my sister who lived beside our house from the former bakery of my father which had been converted into a small house where my eldest brother once lived until he transferred it to my sister but we cannot stay there too because there is no room there to accompany me and my parents there, the other room there is small and I have to take stairs just to go in that room which again is hot during the day.

My parents would not want to live elsewhere because moving-out is quite a rare occurrence here in the first place even though I wanted to also escape this town to be in a much peaceful palace. But living elsewhere is quite a big undertaking for myself because everything seems to be more different as if I will like be an alien to another planet simply because of the extended time that I had stayed in this place.

However I can still consider it if only I will have the means necessary and that is extra funds. It would be wiser for me to do so if I would live in-front or near my dialysis center because in that way I will not have to bother my siblings (if I would outlive my parents) in having a problem about driving me to and from there.

As much as I can I do not want to bother other people including my parents as much as possible. I know that this immobility issues that I have will be a much burden for my siblings because they also are going to their work and my dialysis schedules are in conflict with their time.

They also have children going to school and some of them are in college already. My brother already had gotten a new car and will be paying it for five years while my sister as a high school teacher is paying half her salary for the car that she bought and is still paying for it too. My eldest brother, financially he is unreliable until now. But it is all OK for me because I might do this dream house of my mother a reality if God wills it. I do not have a problem making ends meet but I am in a greater dilemma about doing things because of the cost of things and the priorities that I have to set so that I will not find myself in trouble and it as all taking too much time but I am hopeful that all things will fall in its proper places in due time.

Have a great weekend and take care now. 😀🧡
