Hello.
I am allergic to fake jewelry as my skin is sensitive. I always prefer silver or gold accessories to avoid allergies on my skin. Gold is very expensive these days so most of my accessories are made of silver.
Maybe you know that silver tarnishes more when you don't use it. There is even a proverb for this in my country. Working iron does not rust. Also, when I am constantly dyeing my hair, the dye can get on my earrings. So I researched what I could do and saw that silver polishing products were sold.
Instead of buying and waiting, I researched what I could do at home. I've learned that baking soda and lemon brighten silver. I tried it and wanted to share the results with you.
Meterials
- Lemon (1/2)
- Baking Soda(1tbs)
Things To Do
I put soda and silver in a bowl and squeezed half a lemon on it. I mixed it up a bit and left it to wait. Even though they say that it is enough to wait for 1 hour on the Internet, I made it wait for a day because I wanted to secure the job.
In the image, the earring on the left has not been processed, and the one on the right is also waiting for lemon soda. There isn't much difference between them, is there? That's what I thought, but we're not done yet.🥰
I smeared the residue on the bottom of the plate with the earrings and rubbed it with a cloth. I did this without applying too much force.
After rubbing, you will see the jewelry start to shine. In the image you see the before and after. I think it worked just fine. From now on, I will polish my darkened jewelry with this method.
If you want to rub on stone jewelry, you can write with a toothbrush that you do not use. Of course, don't apply too much force. If you press too hard, the stones may fall.
Shining Silvers💫
If you have darkened silver at home, definitely try this method. After trying it, you can leave the results as a comment here.
Take care until we meet again in the next post. I hope to meet you again with a useful article.
Shine just like these jewelry 💗
