The Hometown of Red Dates: The Sweetness Behind the Hard Work and Helplessness

Last time in Xinjiang, I saw piles of Zepu red dates stacked by the roadside. In the orchards, you could pick a few freely, and no one would scold you—there were plenty scattered on the ground. It turns out that red dates are dried on the branches to remove moisture. I asked the locals, and the wholesale price is only 9 yuan per kilogram. It's so cheap! It makes me feel that the hardworking farmers don’t earn much at all.
