Steemit Learning Challenge - Application for Season 22 : Basic Stitching

The Steemit Learning Challenge Season 22 is going to start, and it's really an honour for me to share my stitching skills with my fellow steemains this season. Many different learning teams have been applied, and I hope this new season will be more effective and productive.

the subject area they want to cover

In this season, I'll teach about basic machine stitching and @sualeha is also assist me in this season if we get chance to work. This course will cover an introduction to stitching, different parts of a basic stitching machine, and their functions. Dress construction, different kinds of neck styles, embellishments, designing with laces, zip stitching, sleeves designing, and stitching of shirts and trousers.

details of their experience in the subject area be it professional or hobbyist

I have experience of stitching of many years ,I learnt basic stitching first from an stitching institute then I practice for two years then I did advanced stitching course. I didn't used stitching as professional but i used my designing of clothes at professional level for 5-6 year .

@sualeha has also great talent of Stitching and crafting. She will help me in this course.

Week#1:Introduction to Stitching Basic

• Tools and materials
• Safety precautions
• BasicsMachine parts and functions
• Thread selection and tensionBasic machine stitches (straight, zigzag)

tasks for Students

1-Explain just three types of needles with their uses and any three types of thread.
2- What safety measures should be taken during stitching?
3-Show your machine and show the needling of thread. How did you fix its tension?
4-When do we use straight stitching and back stitching? Show it in video?
5-Make a handkerchief by folding its sides with straight stitching.

Week#2: dress construction

• Pattern reading and cutting
• Fabric layout and marking
• Simple neck formation Round, V neck, square neck
• Neck using bukram

1-What should be the first step to make a neat and at-centre neck (2)?
2- Make two simple necks with all steps (4).
3- Make a neck by using bukrum; show both sides of the neck (4).

Week#3: Embellishments and designing

different ways to stitch laces

• piping
• joint lace
• pinplates

tasks for Students

1-What do you like the most way to stitch lace?
2-Stitch a lace around a neck that you like.
3-Show how you would stitch two pieces of clothing by using joint lace.
4-Make a design for sleeves by using different embellishments
