The tiny modern Minnesota town of Gilbert has been witnessing a very bizarre event. The city police department reports that many birds have been “flying into windows, cars and acting confused”. They point out that they have been retrieving relevant reports from worried inhabitants.
However the police officers reassured the residents that the apparently ‘drunk’ birds had been snacking on fermented berries: “Certain berries we have in our area have fermented earlier than usual due to an early frost, which in turn has expedited the fermenting process”, hence explaining the reason why these birds looked so drunk-looking as they were stumbling around the city.
These birds looked intoxicated owing to the fermented berries. The latter was actually fermented ahead of time due to an earlier than usual frost. The local police chief Ty Techar spotted the difference between younger and elder birds.
