Back in 1939-41, during the brief period when Stalin and Hitler were best friends, German-occupied part of Poland was shown on Soviet maps as "Area of the political interests of Germany". I guess many countries today (unfortunately - including Canada, where I live), can be marked on the world map as "Areas of the political interests of the UN". And the big tech certainly wants the same for the US.
