My father was born in Bohol but grew up in Cebu City until he met my mom. We rarely visited his province because he was busy with his work in a factory of furniture. We visited my father's ancestral house during town fiesta every May of the year. Fortunately, before the health menace came the pandemic our clans were able to set meet and greet reunion, first ever grand reunion of our clan my father's side in Bohol. We had the chance to roam around Bohol again with my cousins and this photo below is aged more than decades already and call it PAYAG or NIPA HOUSE. Decades of my father's childhood memories in that nipa house is being preserved in his childish memories.

To tell you honestly I was also raised and grew up in a literally PAYAG. It is a nipa house we rented for 150 pesos a month that's around 6 US dollars during those time, where there is no dining table, no kitchen, no living rooms. There is dirty kitchen outside separate from the Nipa house, separate kitchen where you can wash your dishes. The area where you slept is the same area where you had your meals on the floor made of bamboo. But during those times in the absence of gadgets and other appliances we had so much time outside playing with other kids, we had so much cardio games and all to sweat out every time. Physical contact was then very vital to establish relationship with people outside. Neighbors exchanging dishes everyday was even a culture.

Anyway, we can't blame everyone, even me, if everybody is sought the progress of lives and ways of living if necessary we need to grow, things changes, everything changes but TREASURE THE MEMORIES AND THE STRUGGLES YOU FOUGHT AND STRIVED BEHIND, LEARN TO LOOK BACK WHERE YOU TOOK YOUR FIRST STEP TO WHAT YOU ARE NOW!
