Hello friends in the steem travelers community! I hope you are always in good health and blessed by God.
Today I feel very happy to be able to share my journey again in this amazing community. First I want to say a big thank you to the community team who have supported me. Hopefully the support that has been given so far can be a motivation and enthusiasm for me to continue sharing content on steemit. I really appreciate all the support I have received so far.
In this post I want to review the story of my journey when visiting the Aceh traditional house museum. I have been wanting to visit this place for a very long time and finally my wish was fulfilled. The museum is located on Jalan. Sultan Mahmudsyah No. 10, Peuniti, Baiturrahman District, Banda Aceh City. The distance is not so far from the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque which is also directly opposite the path to the Aceh Tsunami museum.
This museum is right on the left and right of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque road. This museum is very easy to find, because it is close to the highway. From outside the street you can see this museum with the characteristic gate and name displayed on the side of the road or right on the sidewalk. This museum is also adjacent to the tomb complex of Sulthan Iskandar Muda, a king who led the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam in the past.
Walking from the museum gate you will enter the parking lot and see the traditional Acehnese house in front of you. The parking lot here looks very wide, a number of flowers are blooming in the garden. Parking is available at two different area locations, . Motorcycles are parked in the yard to the right after entering the gate. Meanwhile, the car can be parked in the area to the left of the entrance gate.
From the appearance of the outside, we can see how the spatial management is designed in such a way, orderly and orderly. In this museum there are a number of buildings that store historical objects. The Aceh Museum itself is an educational cultural tourism place for the whole community. Every day, this museum is always crowded with tourists, both local and foreign.
Not only to see historical heritage objects, this museum is often used as a research and observation center about Acehnese culture. My visit to this museum was to find out about cultural values, customs and cultural diversity in Aceh. A number of historical objects are also the main attraction for me. This museum really has presented about the culture and repertoire of the Acehnese.
The black panggun house with distinctive architecture and ornaments is a traditional Acehnese house. This house has dozens of pillars that make it look sturdy. The walls of the house are painted black and golden yellow, which are distinctive colors full of strong philosophical values. Meanwhile, art carvings and sculptures of millions seem to adorn parts of the walls made by craftsmen and builders.
At the top, the roof of thatch leaves is the hallmark of the traditional building which is made using raw materials from nature with a traditional manufacturing process. This roof is woven from sago palm leaves that are arranged as neatly as possible to protect the house when it rains. If you walk at the bottom of the house, the height of this house reaches more than 2 meters with dozens of strong support poles. At the bottom there is a rice barn and a tool for pounding rice.
A number of cannons from the war in the past also look neatly arranged at the bottom of the house. A number of replica objects typical of Aceh are also displayed at the bottom of the house, such as a replica of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque. To enter this traditional house museum, I have to pay a ticket worth 3000 IDR. I can use this ticket to enter other buildings in the museum area.
Inside the rectangular stilt house is divided into 3 parts. The floor in the center of the house appears to be higher than the floors on the other two sides. In this house there are a number of collections such as equipment for cooking. Cooking utensils made of clay, there are also a number of household items that are identical to local culture and wisdom.
All of these objects are displayed in a closed glass. My eyes are very interested when I see the lamps used in the past. Traditional lamps that rely solely on oil and string wicks. In the Acehnese language, this lighting tool is referred to as "Panyoet".
After I finished circling the inside of the house, I moved to enter another building. The next building has an interesting architecture. This building consists of 3 floors which has a spacious room with a minimalist design. Inside this building there are a number of historical relics.
This building as a whole has objects and relics of the past. In particular, this place can present the cultural richness and characteristics of a nation that has dignity and self-esteem. At the front entrance I found a map of Aceh which attracted my attention enough to take pictures here. Meanwhile, a number of replicas of animals that live in the wilderness of Aceh are also on display on the first floor.
Entering the floor, I found a number of traditional traditional clothes and traditional Acehnese handicrafts. On the 3rd floor I found information about the history of the royal struggle in Aceh which was presented through paintings and large books on the walls. Not only that, a number of traditional war tools and sharp weapons are also exhibited in the glass. Being in this room for a moment, my reflection felt the events that happened in the past.
After circling the building, I headed to the parking lot where there was a giant bell. This large bell was a gift from an admiral from China. The prize was given as a harmonious cooperation with the Aceh kingdom in the fields of trade, education and religion. A bell that is historical evidence behind the spear of Aceh's past glory.
This is the experience of my journey in finding my identity as an Acehnese. I got to know many things when I was in this museum. Giving the spirit to respect the ancestors and maintain the traditions from generation to generation. A national identity that can be proud of, because identity is the most important part that must be maintained.
Thus the story of my journey to visit the Aceh traditional house museum. Hopefully I can share useful information for friends on steemit. Thank you for reading and supporting my writing.
Regards,
@lienla
