3rd Day Of The Yuletide: A Visit To Some Busy Street And Locations In Uyo Metropolis (3-01-2022)
Introduction
The mobile android English Dictionary define Yuletide as "The period of celebration of a pre-Christian festival associated with the (northern) winter solstice, later absorbed into the festival of Christmas." This period is often characterized by many factors such as increase in rush hour buying and selling of food and gifting items, high volume of traffic in busy street and markets area, street decoration, large turn out of eatery and fast food patronage as well as influx of travelers into the city and villages amongst other factors.
A Visit To Some Busy Street And Other Locations
The period may have come and gone so to say, but a visit to some usually busy streets in Uyo metropolis leave the impression of low economic turnout. The popular Ikpa road/Ikot-Ekpene road junction leading to the University of Uyo town campus which is usually characterized by a beehive of activities involving students and non-student hustle and bustle life, is seen looking so lifeless with little or no activities at all.

The usual traffic holdups in this area was not seen, infact there was few vehicular activities around this often busy street. Off course, the university was on a week break which also add to the low key activities. The town campus of the university of Uyo have no life at all. The halls, convocation packs, walk ways, car park are all empty looking like an area were war left deserted. By and large, I know that as the celebrations winds up, students and lecturers return to schools and resumes academic activities, life will gradually return to this great citadel of learning call University of Uyo, and the non academic activities around the school will equally returned and we will witness another busy environment.

Etuk Street
Another location I visited was the popular Etuk street, a centre of commercial activities usually very very busy and full of life. Big time dealers and traders of different goods and services are usually seen offloading their goods from the long trallers into their warehouses and stores, while sub-dealers were usually seen buying and loading their purchases into their buses for onward transport to other towns and villages within Uyo and outside Uyo metropolis. Surprisingly, the Yuletide period - yesterday and today being the third day of the new year - activities at this location is seen looking so low. Some of the stores and shops are still lock and key, vehicles scanty, product display - non, and fewer sellers with half door open with little or no patronage. It is believed that in subsequent days in this week, activities will gradually pick up as people return from their travels and back to their businesses.

Conclusion
Pre-yuletide may be very high in activities wise, the after-yuletide also have its attendant impact. I believe you equally may witness such or something close to that if not more than what I have experience. Which ever feel free to share with your fellow steemians. Permit me to appreciate @manuelhooks for introducing me to this great platform. Have a nice sleep.
