My Travel To Provide Charity To The Needy
Hellow great minds in the steemit world, I welcome you once again to my blog. I will be sharing with you my experience while travelling with my business partners to an orphanage home, with our usual white t-shirt and black cap. Please get on the ride and put on your sestbelt as I drives you through the journey of providing charity to the less privilege in the society.

What Is Charity

The mobile English Dictionary defines charity as:

"Benevolence to others less fortunate than ourselves; the providing of goods or money to those in need."

The above definition shows that the provision of "money or goods" to the vulnerable is a charitable act. This charitable act is what I alongside my colleagues under the umbrella of 'Academy4wealth' a non-governmental organization with the mission of poverty eradication, set out to add smiles on the faces of this vulnerable once in the society, hence the need to travel to meet them in their location.

About to commence the journey

The team was made up of both steemians and non steemiams. We gathered the purchased gift item and packed them into our vehicle, then set the mobile app GPS Coordinate and route director to guide us in the direction to follow since our driver was not familiar with the terrain. The charity home is located along IBB Way, besides Women Development Center, in Uyo, belonging to the Akwa Ibom State Government. The home houses over 350 inmate ranging from few weeks old to 25 years of age.

In Academy4wealth, it has become a culture to pay visit to either orphanage home, prison, hospitals and internal displace camp every first week of the month, and provide them with deferent items such as toiletries, beverages, clothes, and Lasena Arthesian Alkaline Mineral Water which help to detoxify them, and prevent them from getting sick. Of course, this alkaline water is one is thing the organization is advocating and creating awareness to the populace.

At The Home

We arrived the home by 3.45pm and after being checked by the security men at the gate, we were received by one of the care giver, a middle age lady who looked so agile. She presented to us their register to enter our details, and after that showed us some if the children and told us that we will not be able to see all of them simply because they were currently at the chapel for devotion service.

She alongside one of the orphans received the provisions on behalf of others. The care giver then thanked us and ask one of them to appreciate us. The volunteer start by singing song of praise and then concluded with prayer.
Though we were not allowed to take snapshots with them because most of them still have court cases and other police findings and documentation. Taking picture with or of them is tantamount to exposing them the more, hence, it is against their practice.

My Feelings

Travelling to visit the orphanage home actually affected my feeling. My feeling was so disturbed because seeing toddlers with pampas lying on the mattress, some crying and some looking so rejected really really touch my emotions. I felt for them and I wish I have the opportunity to change their situations.

I use this medium therefore to sound out a clarion call to all dear steemians with a human heart to reach out to these ones and in their capacity touch their lives for good.

Conclusion

I believe steemit is a global platform and as such every country have orphanage homes, so wherever you are, locate this onces and reach out to them. If you travel to visit them give them a sense of belonging, and you can never imaging the blessings that follows this kind gesture as you wholeheartedly renders this services to humanity and put smiles on their faces.
