Everyone must have at least one reason to take a trip. 9 hours a day in front of the monitor for example. 40 hours work in a week maybe. Or just want to be alone for a while from the hectic daily routine.
Like so many reasons why people travel, the earth always has a place to go. And lucky us for now, in this era of social media, it is not so difficult to find interesting tourist destinations. Peucari Waterfall, for example, is a very natural tourist destination in the wilderness of the Jantho forest.
Peucari Waterfall is located in Bueng Village, Jantho City, Aceh Besar District. To reach Jantho City, the distance that must be taken is approximately 150 miles, or about 4-5 hours from Lhokseumawe City. Then about 7 more miles from the center of Jantho City to Bueng Village.
Bueng Village is the last village which is also the gateway to Peucari Waterfall. but to get to the waterfall hidden in the forest is not easy. Especially for those who have never been. It is almost impossible to find it without the company of a local guide.
From Bueng Village to the location there are no motorized vehicles that can be used. Here fully the strength of the leg muscles is tested. And from here the journey to the hidden beauty in the wilderness of Jantho forest begins.
The distance of about 4 km must be covered by walking for approximately 2 hours. The first track that must be passed is the path commonly used by local residents as access to gardens or rice fields. The green leaves as far as the eye can see and the beauty of the countryside are the first to catch the eye. And for those who like to contemplate, there is always a reason to be jealous of the village atmosphere which is very different from the noisy city.
The journey will slowly get heavier. The rocky road feels like hitting the soles of the feet. Rocky and muddy tracks are unavoidable things that will always be encountered along the way to Peucari Waterfall. Lucky are those who can appreciate and enjoy the process. This is the point. This is where the substance of the real journey. The art of walking with the heart.
The longer the foot is moved, the further the village lags behind, also further into the wilderness. The more difficult the path to be traversed. But the more priceless the beauty in front of the eyes. There are too many things that are a pity not to be captured with the camera, but also too valuable not to be enjoyed with the naked eye.
Most of the tracks are tributaries that must be passed approximately 14 times. Slipping, falling, even getting soaked up to half the body is unavoidable and must be enjoyed. Of course there is a feeling of tiredness that forces to take a rest. But the extraordinary scenery does not stop offering a stunning beauty to the eye. And it doesn't take excessive intelligence to be able to feel grateful for this extraordinary gift from God.
Even though it feels very tiring, there is a feeling of happiness that is not hidden. There's no problem with feet tripping over creeping grass or getting caught in dry branches. It didn't matter that his knees were bruised from hitting the river rocks. The struggle to get to this hidden waterfall in the middle of the forest pays off with various views and experiences. Actually already paid before arriving at the destination.
Among the breeze, the chirping of birds singing, and the movement of branches to tree branches that are like dancing. There was a sign that was eagerly awaited. The roar of the water rushes like a welcome from a distance and cheers: the waterfall is near.
In the chest, a heartbeat could be heard screaming. Impatient. Do not want any longer to get to the destination. But the forest still holds surprises. Right next to the river where the waterfall flows, there is a large tree full of bees and their nests. It's a very rare sight. And at this moment it is very difficult to explain in words. The speechless moment.
The big tree that is home to millions of bee colonies seems to give a signal: please enjoy this nature, but don't pollute it, don't destroy it, and take care of it so that it remains sustainable.
And when the hope is in sight, the voice of the heart echoes in the head: here it is a little paradise hidden on one side of the earth. Peucari Waterfall.
A crystal clear waterfall cascades down from 7 steps. Every step is as if perfectly sculpted with a large pool below. Occasionally seen small fish swimming happily. Sometimes also seen a small rainbow of water particles blown by the wind and exposed to sunlight. The air is very cool and fresh. The trees are lush and green. Birds are heard singing melodiously. Sometimes the trees waved in encouragement. A stark contrast to the bustling city. There is no sound of vehicle horns, no smoke that clogs the lungs. This harmony is very beautiful, very expensive. It's a shame that time has passed in this place.
Contemplation of this wonderful nature give a peace of mind that is very valuable. And accept that nature is a vast order that cannot be fully understood. And that should make us humans to always feel small in front of the universe and always be grateful for the blessings that God has given.
