Sheikh Hasina, the former prime minister of Bangladesh, is frequently cited as an example in India following her removal by a student and people's movement. The current anti-government protest in West Bengal was not without references to the state of affairs in Bangladesh and the plight of Hasina. In Kolkata, even Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, stated, "They thought they could wage a movement like Bangladesh here too and overthrow the government."
Deputy chief minister of Karnataka, Shivakumar, along with leaders and workers of Congress, demonstrate against the governor of Karnataka. 19 August (ANI)
The Indian state of Karnataka made reference to the same thing. A Congress leader there said warningly to the central government, "Unless the reins are pulled on the governor, he also will be forced to exit like Sheikh Hasina."
The chief minister Siddaramaiah's political future was linked to the threat made by the Karnataka ruling party, Congress. Following the approval of a legal process to investigate allegations of corruption against Siddaramaiah, the state's ruling party is now furious with the governor that the BJP nominated. Congress is asking that the governor be replaced by holding protests against him around the state.
At an anti-governor demonstration, party leader and Vidhan Sabha member Ivan D'Souza declared that if the state legislature doesn't remove the governor, a movement will take root throughout the entire state. The governor can then experience Sheikh Hasina's fate.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was the target of complaints alleging he gave his wife preferential treatment when allocating land. In this regard, a case was filed with the lower court against him. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot authorized the initiation of the case's legal process.
Congress claims that the governor's action was illegal and that it was driven by politics. His goal was to stir up political turmoil in the state. He granted authority to act on July 26th, but did not give the situation any thought. Madhya Pradesh-based BJP leader Thawar Chand Gehlot. He served as a member of the Narendra Modi government from 2014 to 2021. He was thereafter appointed governor of Karnataka.
The Congress believes that the BJP-JDS combination is involved in a political plot to remove Chief Minister Siddaramaiah from office. They caution that the governor will suffer the same fate as Hasina if the issue is not resolved.
