Acting as a Good Samaritan

Helping others has a lot of benefits because the person you help today will come to you one day to help you in return. When I help someone, I do it for the sake of God because I know that only God will rewards each and everyone of us abundantly. Who is a Good Samaritan?

A good Samaritan is someone who lends a helping hand by providing shelter and other basic needs of life to poor people in their community. A poor man needs help, and those who are rich must support them financially so that Almighty Allah will reward them with something big. Good samaritan are the set of people who do not like to be stingy; in fact, they spend the last money they have for others to live. Some of these people we are talking about are capable and also do not like to frown when it comes to helping others to survive.

When last did your help someone and what did you help the person with?

With little Almighty Allah gave me, I tried my best to render support to disadvantaged people in my community. Yesterday morning around 10:00 AM, while I was asleep, my phone rang. It was my friend who called me. I felt so bad and I didn't have any option but to pick up the call. I answered the phone call, we greeted each other, and after that, he requested that I borrow him my car battery. I felt reluctant at first, and instantly a second thought came to my mind - maybe he was going somewhere very important. Later, I gave him the car battery to use for the car.

Why did you help this person? How much did it cost you?

I did it for the sake of friendship and inability to buy a battery for the car. All hands are not equal; God created philanthropists to support less privileged people. Another thing is that I did it to build a strong relationship so that our friendship can last longer. Car batteries are very expensive. The battery we used to buy at the rate of 18,000 naira (18 steem) before was now 30,000 naira, which is about 63 steem. Not everybody can afford it. Some battery chargers in my area rent car batteries to people who are not financially okay. They collect money from them and if they exceed the expected return period, they will put extra money on it. I gave him the battery free of charge because a friend in need is a friend indeed.

What benefits did you derive by offering help?

Like I said earlier, only God will reward each and everyone of us. Anytime I support someone who needs help, I feel happy with a smile on my face, because if such a person becomes rich today, they may return the favor tomorrow.

However, not everyone you help remembers you for the favor you do for them. Our parents teach us to do good and support others. They give people with little that God blesses with, believing that, the person may come to assist you in difficult times. There are a lot of benefits we can gain if we continue to do good to others. The person may not give you money in return, but they may do something bigger than that, which may surprise you.

Conclusion

The moment we help others our wealth continue to increase. Let us have it in mind to helps others. We are not do it for ourselve, we are do it for another generation.
