School times are one of the favorite and most important episodes in the life of anyone, including me. It shaped my personality and my way of looking at the world. It helped shape my values, beliefs, and perspectives, and it has had a lasting impact on my personal and professional life. So many memories and magic moments. Therefore, I always remember those times with full enthusiasm.

In Sri Lanka, we are lucky to have Free education from primary and secondary education up to the university level. (Engineering, Medicine, Law, Teaching, etc, and professional education as well). I am a BSc. Degree holder of Civil Engineering entirely with the blessings of Tax-payers of the country. (13 years in school + 4 years in University).

So, thank you @fantvwiki for bringing up this contest to look back on those times with a sense of nostalgia.

Two of my Favorite Lessons in school

Well, this is a hard question. I love studying almost all the subjects. But I'll choose Mathematics and Literature. It seems like two vastly different subjects. But they both can challenge someone and inspire in their own ways. Both subjects improve imagination, creative thinking, and personal growth.

Medicine, law, business, and engineering are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for” - From the movie Dead Poets Society

Um lucky to be inspired by both these subject areas. As my Childhood dream was to become an engineer, I had a special bond and was fond of Mathematics. Studying numbers and applying those concepts to real-world scenarios with time is really exciting. I strongly believe Maths is a universal subject and its capacity is simply addicting.

On the other hand, I studied both English and Sinhala(native language) Literature. I was fascinated by those stories, poems, art, etc. The level of imagination we are receiving from a simple piece of work is amazing. I had some of the best and most experienced teachers that taught them in a dramatic way. I think for my journey in Steemit also, that foundation helped a lot.

One Subject that I was reluctant to study

Well, it's a language subject Tamil. No offense to my Tamil friends. Love you all. 😉😉 It's the second official language of Sri Lanka. It's not the subject. It's the teacher, who taught it. She was very rude and had no excuses from her at all. When teaching a completely new language, I believe teachers should be more practical and creative. It's hard to remember them at once. But, with dictations, and questions I never liked that lesson. Anyway, as it's important to learn Tamil, I am now learning on my own.

My Favorite Teacher in school and reasons for loving her

It's my primary school teacher. I'll say, my first Teacher. Mrs. Dulani. The one who is responsible for who I am. She taught me from grades 1-5. At that age, teachers are literally like mothers to kids. They can simply change our future and school life.

Mrs.Dulani was very kind and taught us very well. We were her first classroom. She made me realize my capabilities and shine my talents. But unfortunately, she left our school, and I lost contact with her.

Am I an outstanding or a mediocre student?

Yeah, I can say I am an outstanding student in the school. In primary school, I was a prefect and was named one of the best students after 5 years. Most of the time I got the top 3 positions in our section with an 85+ average. I was on the school hardball Cricket team, dancing team, and general knowledge team. I could pass out from school becoming the District fourth in the Physical Science stream and get selected for the university. So, I am proud of my achievements there and my contributions to the school.

So, that's it. It's really a pleasure to go through those special memories in my life. Hope you'll enjoy it!!
