IN TERMS OF CARE AND QUALITY, WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HOSPITAL

A public hospital is an hospital that is owned, controlled and managed by the government. Private hospitals are managed, owned and control by an individual. There are quite differences between these two terms by the care given to patients, the quality time and ofcourse quality treatment. The main difference between a public hospital from a private hospital is the way and manner at which a patient will be treated.

IN YOUR COUNTRY, HOW IS THE COST OF TREATMENT DIFFERENT FROM PRIVATE AND PUBLIC HOSPITALS?

The treatment cost of a private hospital is different from the treatment cost of a public hospital. A public hospital cost lesser than that of the private hospital because the private hospital which are owned, managed and control by an individual or partners buys their working equipment, drugs, and other facilities by themselves therefore anything they spend will be considered as an expenses.

The public hospital is controlled by the government and some of the public hospitals are not properly managed by the health practitioners why because no close supervisions on their works.

WHICH TYPE OF HOSPITAL DO YOU PREFER FOR REGULAR CHECKUPS, AND WHY?

I would have preferred the public hospitals with my reasons of having a less expenses since it is owned by the government but I can't go for my regular check up in a public hospital because some of their working facilities might have been expired which might result to unspecific results afterwards.

Private hospitals have almost all it takes for checkup and treatment of people's health so for that reason, people rush into private hospitals than the public hospitals. Secondary, the private hospitals are more active than the public hospitals.

2 years ago, I was hospitalised at Ola hospital, Akwanga. From the name it means it is owned by Ola(our lady of apostle) they come together as different business individuals to set and build up this is health institute to help humanity and to have it as their source of income.

The experience I had at the hospital was never a bad one. The nurses came in and attended to me in my ward at the right time. They were always encouraging me to get well soon and I was feeling like a queen which I am not sure that public hospital might even take such time to encourage their patients.
