Good night to all steemian friends wherever you are, how are you today? Hopefully all are still in good health and always under the protection of Allah SWT so that they can carry out all activities well.
Aaryan Shukla, a 14 year old teenager from Maharashtra, India, managed to break six world records in mental mathematics in one day. Shukla's extraordinary achievements were recognized by Guinness World Records. Shukla, a talented teenager has set several world records in mathematics by carrying out calculations using only his mind and without any tools. Aaryan Shukla set several impressive records, including: adding 100 four-digit numbers in just about thirty-one seconds.
Then Shukla was also able to add 200 numbers with four digits in 1 minute 9.68 seconds. The Indian teenager was also able to add 50 five-digit numbers in just about 19 seconds. He also multiplied two sets of five-digit numbers 10 times in 51.69 seconds. Another record that Shukla set was multiplying two sets of eight-digit numbers ten times in 2 minutes 35.41 seconds. Not only that, Shukla can also divide 10 numbers with 20 digits by 10 numbers with 10 digits in 5 minutes 42 seconds. Aaryan Shukla does this calculation faster than most people who use a calculator. Shukla achieved this achievement at an event organized by Guinness World Records in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the recording can be seen on the official Guinness World Records website.
A prodigy in the world of Mathematics apart from these six new records, Aaryan Shukla previously held the world record for the fastest time in adding 50 five-digit numbers. Shukla revealed that the secret to his abilities is disciplined training and yoga practices that help him stay calm and focused. "I practice math for five to six hours a day in between my hobbies like reading and playing video games," Shukla said in an interview with People Magazine. Even though Aaryan Shukla has extraordinary abilities, his father emphasized that his talents were not inherited from the family.
Aaryan Shukla comes from an ordinary family, his father in an interview revealed that Aaryan is a very special and rare individual. But Shukla is not the only teenager gaining attention in the world of mathematics. In 2022, two high school students in the United States, Ne'Kiya Jackson and Calcea Johnson, discovered new proof for the Pythagorean Theorem. The two teenagers used trigonometry to prove this theorem, something mathematicians previously thought impossible. Their research was then published in the journal American Mathematical Monthly in 2024.
