I am very happy if you already understand how to calculate the need for bricks in building a wall structure, but if not I suggest you to re-read my post on How to Calculate the Need for Red Bricks.
If you already know the number of bricks you need, then to build the wall what must be on your mind and the most important thing to know is how much it will cost, then pay close attention to these steps:
Step 1, Inventory Prices
This price may vary from region to region, but first find out how much the materials cost to make a construction, for example to build a wall, we need materials such as bricks, cement and sand. My example of the price list is:
- Bricks, 1 Piece = 715 Rupiah
- Cement, 1 Kg = 1,870 Rupiah
- Sand, 1 M3 = 217,800 Rupiah
We also need to find out how much the wage for the person who will work to build this wall construction, here I give an overview is:
- Builder, 1 Person = 130,000 Rupiah
- Worker, 1 person = 100,000 Rupiah
Step 2, Create the Unit Price of Work
The unit price of work is obtained from an analysis of the calculation of needs for a construction job which is also divided into two components, namely Labor (People who work) and Materials (Materials used).
The unit price of work determined for brick wall installation work is in square meters (m2). The standard analysis that has been compiled and used in installing brick walls can be detailed in the table below.
The new variable that we get is in the Coefficient column, the coefficient value is obtained from the standard provisions (calculated by the party in charge), so to find out the Total Price, the Coefficient is multiplied by the Unit Price. For example:
Worker = 0.3 x 100,000 = 30,000
That is, to build a brick wall construction measuring 1 m2 we pay wages for workers amounting to 30,000 Rupiah.
Likewise, the calculation for masons, bricks, cement and sand, whose total price value is totaled to get a nominal called the Unit Price of Work of 123,920.40 Rupiah / m2.
Step 3, Determine the Wall Area
The wall area is the multiplication of the Length and Width of the wall we are planning to build, let's take a case study of the wall I am riding on below:
⬇️
Wall Length = 2.8 meters
Wall Width = 1.3 meters
Wall Area = 2.8 x 1.3 = 3.64 meters
Step 4, Estimating the Construction Cost
We already have the data of the component values generated from step 2, namely the Unit Price of Work = 123,920.40 Rupiah/M2 and also the calculation result from step 3, the Wall Area = 3.64 meters.
Next, to find out how much is the Estimated Price for the construction of a brick wall, then all we have to do is just multiply the value of the Unit Price of Work with the Area of the Wall.
The cost of the wall construction is,
123,920.40 x 3.64 = 451,070.256 Rupiah
This is how to estimate the construction price of a brick wall, pay close attention to each step description, and make the necessary adjustments. Hopefully this article provides new knowledge that is useful for you.
