In terms of care and quality, what are the main differences between public and private hospitals?
In Indonesia, especially Aceh, public and private hospitals have almost no difference in terms of care because here we are always given good service by doctors and nurses who work in public and private hospitals.
Maybe making a little difference between care in public and private hospitals is the facilities, in public hospitals the room facilities for patients are like the standard of hospitals in general but are very comfortable to use.
However, in private hospitals the inpatient rooms given to patients are much more luxurious which are called VIP, this is natural because in private hospitals sick people have to pay for the facilities they occupy while being treated in the hospital.
In your country, how is the difference in the cost of care in private and public hospitals?
The difference in cost between private hospitals and public hospitals is very different, because in private hospitals patients who are treated have to pay very expensively for one night of treatment or just to undergo an examination, even for the cost of treatment in private hospitals, some are around Rp 1,000,000 or equivalent to 381 STEEM for one night of treatment, some are even more expensive.
While public hospitals in our area, the cost of treatment is all free, as well as inpatient care, because hospital costs in Indonesia have all been covered by BPJS Kesehatan (Social Security Administration).
Which type of hospital do you prefer for routine check-ups, and why?
For now, I prefer public hospitals for routine check-ups or for treatment, because for now I cannot afford the expensive costs for private hospitals.
Moreover, I can always recover well and stay healthy even though I only get treatment at public hospitals, because as I said above, the treatment and examination provided are both good, but what makes private hospitals expensive is because of the facilities.
Have you ever been hospitalized? How was your experience?
Until today, thank God, I have never been hospitalized, but I have undergone minor surgery or minor wound care, even a few weeks ago I just finished undergoing surgery for a boil on my face.
And now I have recovered completely even though I only went to a public hospital.
