My birthday is June 19, I love my day, I could say in the middle of the year, it is my special day and it is close to the celebration of father's day in my country. My mom was in labor since the 18th, I am her oldest daughter.

Mom always made us a cake and bought soda, we sang at home the birthday and sometimes we ate something of our choice. I won't deny that I always wanted a party, but my parents didn't have the resources for it,
and there are 4 of us, so we had to have 4 parties a year, if there wasn't enough for one, there wasn't enough for all of us.

But when I started working I began to make my own cakes and as time went by now I find myself making cakes for the whole family, mom, dad, siblings, nieces and nephews. I'm almost in charge of making sure that day doesn't go under the table, it shouldn't happen for any of them.

For as long as I can remember I have only organized a gathering for myself, that is, as mom did cake, soda, maybe a pizza, I have never organized a party for myself as such, but my daughters have.

I believe that we should tell that person that you are happy because on a day like that they came into the world and therefore into our lives and their presence in our lives is important.

I remember one of the best birthdays I have ever had was one organized by my students at the Bolivarian University of Venezuela. That day I came home from work and found the girls gathered at home with cake, barbecue, and I went back to buy something else, tired but happy.

And what I loved is that someone thought of me and wanted to surprise me.
