My Friend, Cletus Buried His Grandfather. [Saturday, 18th November, 2023]

Today, I'm pleased to share with you in this amazing community yet another glimpse of my day and how I joined my friend to bid a farewell to his Grandfather. I, and my friend at the burial ground

About a year and two months ago, my friend Cletus went through a difficult time with the loss of his beloved grandfather, Late Chief James Cletus Inoh. The Deceased was born on 15th September, 1937 and answered the call to eternal rest by the Almighty God on 28th day of April, 2023. His funeral service was Saturday, 18th November, 2023.

Though, Late Chief James Cletus lived for 86 fulfilled years on earth, but the passing of a loved one is never easy, and I can only imagine the emotional pain and grief that Cletus my friend and his family must be feeling.

Cletus was extremely close to his grandfather, who was not only a family patriarch but also a guiding light and source of inspiration. His grandfather's wisdom, kindness, and generosity had a profound impact on Cletus's life, shaping him into the person he is today.

The burial venue was in Onna Local Government Area, which is 71.8km from Uyo where I live. A 2hours drive. I wasn't able to join the friends night due to the time I closed from work that day. On the burial day, I woke up very early, got prepared and hit the road to sympathised with my friend.

I arrived their compound in Onna by 8am and joined other of his friends to assist him in some funeral arrangements. From fixing canopies, cleaning and arrangement of chairs to fixing public address system.

The burial ceremony was a solemn and emotional occasion, with family and friends gathering to pay their respects to the departed soul. Cletus was visibly shaken, but he showed remarkable Courage and resilience as he bid his final farewell to his grandfather.

I was although by his side, I made sure I calmed him when the feeling of losing his grandfather was high. I was busy snapping him pictures with his siblings just to make him happy while the funeral service was ongoing.

As Cletus was navigating the difficult period, I made him to know that I was there for him, always. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as they grieved and celebrated the life of an extraordinary individual.
