Acting as a Good Samaritan

Who is a Good Samaritan?

In my opinion a good Samaritan is anyone who does good to others even without knowing them. When you see someone on the road who needs help and you decided to render assistant to the person not minding the person race, religion or culture, then you are a good Samaritan.

Every good Samaritan helps others without anticipating anything in return. When you do good, you did it because you like doing good and you don't care about anything else other than to see that the person you are doing this good for becomes happy.

So when you put a smile on the faces of others through the things you do for them wheather you know them or not then we can say you are a good Samaritan.

When last did your help someone and what did you help the person with?

The last time I remembered doing a good Samaritan job was when there was a little scarcity of water in the barracks where a stay. There is this aged woman whose children are currently not with her so I saw her came to fetch water and I immediately took her cans and the fill it and carried it to her house.

She was so happy and overwhelmed with joy for that single act of kindness. When I got to her house she insisted that I sit and eat something but I decline because I wasn't hungry and before leaving she decided to pray for me and bless me.

Why did you help this person? How much did it cost you?

I help her in fetching water from the tap and then carried it to her house. It didn't cost me any money but it cost me the time I was supposed to use and do my own things. Though I was so happy about everything because of how she appreciated me.

On getting to her house which was like 2KM away from the tap she insisted I rest and have some food but I decline so she ended up praying for me and blessing me saying for this help I have rendered to her, I will always see people ready to help me whereever I find myself.

It was indeed a wonderful prayer that I admire so much because it meant a lot to me as a person. I have always wanted to hear such type of prayers in my life.

What benefits did you derive by offering help?

When I see people happy and smiling because of the helps I render to them I feel so happy and fulfilled. In life, money is not everything hence putting a smile on the face of a person at all times is what really matter.

I'm delighted to always put a smile on the faces of people I see around me no matter how little. Today I have attracted more people and blessing in my side and on my way because of the good deeds I do for those around me. So this is my major source of joy and happiness.
