It's another day of the week and I'm delighted to participate in this contest today organized by @abdullahw2 which talks about Private vs Public Hospitals. I will be making my entry below so read through it and drop your valuable comment as it will be appreciated.

The differences between private hospitals and public hospitals are very clear in my country Nigeria due to the treatment rendered to the citizens of the country. The citizens themselves have the best answers to it because every difference is so obvious.

IN TERMS OF CARE AND QUALITY, WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE HOSPITAL

When it comes to treatment, the private hospital gives more attention and the best of their ability to see that their patients gets a very comfortable stay at the hospital and also makes sure the patient gets healed in due time.

While in the public hospitals, the treatment, care and quality is so poor due to the fact that they are government properties therefore, people don't take things very serious especially the workers. Some government workers behaves carelessly because the government of my country are not even helping matters. They don't provide the necessity for the hospital growth and so on.

IN YOUR COUNTRY, HOW IS THE COST OF TREATMENT DIFFERENT FROM PRIVATE AND PUBLIC HOSPITALS?

The differences in treatments are quite clear. The cost of the treatment in a public hospital is quite different from that of a private hospital due to the fact that the government are not doing their needed best to see it's hospital structures in standards as that of the private including the cost of treatments.

Nomatter how costly the private institute, citizens still prefers going to the private hospital for treatment because of their good treatment and focus on their patients while the treatment in public hospitals become very cheap due to little or no good treatment tools provided by the governments.

WHICH TYPE OF HOSPITAL DO YOU PREFER FOR REGULAR CHECKUPS, AND WHY?,

I prefer the private hospital than the public hospitals with my above reasons. I really hope that Nigeria will become a better country some day. The treatment given to patients in public hospitals is too poor and the private hospitals are taking over now because of their seriousness.

A private hospital becomes very serious because it is not owned by the government. I go straight to the private hospital nomatter the cost than to go to any public hospital to waste my time and little energy as a sick person.

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN HOSPITALISED? HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE?

Yes, I have ever been to the hospital. Last week I was at the hospital for check up, I decided to go to a close by hospital which happen to be a public hospital because I was away from home, I would have waited till I travel back home to visit the private hospital I am used to.

My experience at the public hospital was so terrible. I kept waiting for more than 2 hours for the laboratory person to resume work and you could imagine the time a government worker resumes work because as at 9am he is not yet at work so I had to wait for him.
