To all Nigerians, It has been a sad and dangerous practice to purchase already registered or preregistered sim cards by the roadside. This practice has lead to several innocent persons being linked to criminal activities, impersonation etc. Recently MTN Nigeria has been on a Nation wide sensitisation campaign on the dangers of purchasing and using preregistered sim cards by the general public,it's illegal ,it's criminal . In line with an article in the guardian Newspaper

The sale or use of pre-registered of SIM card carries a fine or jail term or both,
according to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

Please be careful not to purchase any pre registered sim cards,be sure to go to the designated Telecommunications offices to legally buy and register your sim cards with a verified NIN number.
