The Diary Game: Finding Help In Unexpected Places(31-03-2025)

Hello my people, how are you doing? Sorry, this diary is coming in this late. I've been so busy since morning and I'm just returning from work. Normally I'm supposed to have my rest but for the love of Steemit, I have to spare a little time and write. So today, I'll talk about how stranded I was yesterday and almost lost hope but God showed up at the last minute. I haven't felt helpless in a while like I felt yesterday, I called all the people I could think of who'd come to my aid but I got turned down.

I woke up yesterday with the urge to go to work and not stay at home doing nothing and whirling away the holiday. I had no tools on me to aid me go to work so I called my colleague and he asked me to come get systems, I got to his place and picked up what I needed and the next challenge was money for transport fare. I had just five hundred naira with me and that couldn't take me anyway, I asked my colleague to borrow me one thousand that I'll refund when I'm back but he said he had no money on him.

Next person I went to, was my friend but she gave me excuses that passed mine. Someone was actually owing me and I had called her to get the money from her but she didn't pick me so this left me stranded and got me looking for who to borrow from. I had to use the only money I had on me to buy airtime so I could call more people I knew could be of help. I called someone that just crossed my mind though I felt reluctant to do so and surprisingly, he sent me five thousand naira and even asked me not to refund the money. I was so happy and couldn't thank him enjoy, I couldn't prepared and left for work.

I stopped by an outlet to purchase sim cards in bulk and their price was friendly, I made payment and left. While leaving the place, I saw my coworker who's no longer with us and we exchanged pleasantries and talked for a while before telling him that I'm heading for work and I left. I entered a mini bus to the location I was heading and on getting there, I worked for someone before it started drizzling. I even took it for a joke thinking it won't rain heavily but I was shocked at the heavy downpour.

It rained for about two hours or more, I even regret leaving my house for work and later thought that was the reason most people, I went to for help declined. I found a place to sit and wait for the rain to stop and there was a store close by where I could make purchase. I was actually hungry as I didn't eat anything before leaving the house so I bought Pepsi and puff puff and ate. Someone walked up to me and said he wanted to get his sim registered and happily, I shoved my snacks aside and attended to him.

After attending to the man, I continued with my snacks until a lady came out from the house with a basin of cassava to peel. Since I wasn't doing anything, I offered to help her and she was happy. Although at first, she declined and asked me not to bother but I insisted because I couldn't just sit there and watch her do the task alone while I wasn't doing anything so she gave in at last. We peeled the cassava and she seized the opportunity to ask me few questions she thought was necessary and I have her accurate reply. I later found out we were closely related as she's from same village as me.

It later stopped raining but I had to finish what I had at hand first before going home, it was late already and I couldn't continue working as it was still cloudy like it wasn't going to rain again. When we finished peeling the cassava, I boarded a mini bus back home. When I got home, I went to check on my clothes I have to the tailor to work on but I got a negative response from her, the clothe wasn't ready and I was asked to come back next day to pick it up. I left there with anger because we had discussed and even agreed on when I should pick up the clothe.

I didn't know what to prepare for dinner and didn't even have enough money for it so I bought fries from a roadside vendor and ate. After eating, I had my bath and came on here to write before going to bed. Yesterday wasn't a good one and I don't want to experience such kind of Monday again. It was nothing to write home about except for the free money I got but I'm still grateful for the experience.
