Assalamu alaikum
Friends, how are you all? I hope everyone is well. I am fine too, Alhamdulillah.
Today I appear before you with a blog.
In praise of Allah's blessings
My daughter is my sister's cousin.
Daughters are a gift from God.
Daughters are a special blessing and gift from Allah. In Islam, nurturing and raising daughters with love, care, and dignity is highly emphasized. The Quran and Hadith repeatedly highlight the importance of treating daughters with kindness and ensuring their rights.
In the Quran:
Allah says:
"He bestows daughters upon whom He wills, and bestows sons upon whom He wills. Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills."
(Surah Ash-Shura: 49-50)
This makes it clear that granting children is Allah's will, and daughters should be seen as a special gift and blessing from Him.
In the Hadith:
- The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever raises three daughters, treats them kindly, and gets them married, Paradise is guaranteed for him."
(Tirmidhi: 1912)
2.In another Hadith, he said:
"Whoever has two daughters and cares for them properly, they will be a shield for him from Hellfire."
(Muslim: 2629)
Lessons:
Daughters should not be seen as a burden but as a blessing from Allah.
It is our responsibility to ensure their proper upbringing, education, and moral development.
Treating them with kindness and granting them equal rights is an essential teaching of Islam.
By considering daughters as a special mercy from Allah and raising them accordingly, one can attain peace and rewards both in this world and the Hereafter.
What did the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say to his daughter.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) spoke highly about daughters and emphasized their care and respect. He regarded daughters as a great blessing from Allah and gave glad tidings of Paradise to those who take good care of them. Here are some key sayings (hadiths) of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding daughters:
- Glad tidings of Paradise for raising daughters
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"Whoever raises two daughters and treats them kindly will be my companion in Paradise."
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5649)
2.Daughters as a mercy from Allah
He said:
"Whoever has three daughters or three sisters and takes care of them well and treats them kindly, Allah will grant him entry into Paradise."
(Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1912)
- Love and respect for daughters
The Prophet (peace be upon him) showed immense love and respect for his daughter Fatimah (RA). Whenever she came to him, he would stand up to welcome her, kiss her, and seat her beside him.
These hadiths illustrate that raising daughters with care and kindness is a virtuous act and a means of attaining Paradise. In Islam, daughters are considered a blessing from Allah, not a burden.
Family and father's responsibility towards daughters.
The responsibility of the family and the father towards a daughter is a profound social and cultural matter. It varies across different societies, cultures, and religious contexts. Generally, it can be understood as follows:
1. Family Responsibilities:
Preserving honor and values: Daughters are often seen as responsible for upholding family values and traditions.
Education and self-reliance: It is the father’s responsibility to ensure the daughter receives proper education and becomes self-reliant.
Social guidance: Helping the daughter navigate societal norms and cultural expectations.
2. Financial Responsibilities:
In many societies, parents save or allocate property for their daughter’s future.
Providing financial support during marriage is often seen as a father’s responsibility.
3. Emotional and Moral Responsibilities:
A father plays a vital role in building the daughter’s personality and confidence.
Supporting the daughter emotionally and encouraging her to achieve her dreams is essential.
4. Social Perspective:
In some societies, daughters are viewed as the "symbol of immortality" for their fathers, as they carry forward values and teachings to the next generation.
It is the family's responsibility to create a positive outlook for the daughter, enabling her to hold her head high in society.
5. Question of Equality:
A daughter’s responsibilities should be treated equally to those of a son, focusing on nurturing her, respecting her freedom, and ensuring her rights.
In summary, the responsibility towards a daughter is to raise her to be self-reliant, confident, and capable of making a positive contribution to society. The father’s role is crucial in achieving this.
