There are many shops around the Dhaka sidewalks that sit on the side of the road.
Many times, people have difficulty moving around with these.

Specialties of sidewalk shops

1. Sidewalk products are generally available at a low price, making them affordable for most people.

Street-side shops are an integral part of urban life. They are not just a source of livelihod for people with lower incomes but also a reflection of the city's culture, vibrancy, and daily life. From tea stalls to small eateries, books, and handcrafted goods—everything can be found on the footpaths.

Convenience for Busy Lives: These shops are essential for working people and pedestrians, providing quick access to food or essential items.

3.Boosting Local Economy: These shops serve as a source of income for countless individuals. A significant portion of the urban lower-income population depends on them for their livelihood.

4.Part of the Culture: Stret-side shops reflect the local culture and lifestyle of an area.
However, there are some challenges associated with street-side shops, such as:

Obstructing pedestrian movement.

Disrupting road discipline.

Lack of hygiene and safety measures.
If these challenges are addressed, street-side shops can be managed effectively, contributing significantly to the economy and everyday life of the city.
