New York, NY, Aug. 5, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This spring, students and alumni of the New York Film Academy (NYFA) were honoured to be accepted into The Academy GOLD Production Track for the summer of 2022. The Academy GOLD Rising Program is a talent, diversity and inclusion development initiative created by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), available to students with interests in filmmaking, costume design, film editing, production design, sound and visual effects.
Hundreds of students compete to be placed within the five spaces available in each of the disciplines mentioned above. As part of The Academy GOLD program, selected students have the opportunity to experience film filming on a professional sound stage and follow an active production set. After students complete the program, they are assigned a mentor to guide their career paths. Students are denoted as golden alumni of the Academy for life, which comes with exciting benefits like the opportunity to attend the Academy Awards.
This year, eight NYFA alumni and current students were chosen as part of the Academy's GOLD Rising Program.
