Citizens of Ekpri Nsukara, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria went agog with great Joy as the long-awaited anticipated Uyo shopping mall was finally Commissioned and opened on Saturday 16th April 2022.

The EFG(Everyday Foods Group) Mart and Tantalizer is located at Nwaniba Road by Ekpri Nsukara Junction, Uyo. The EFG (Everyday Foods Group) is one of the true Pan-Akwa Ibom State Companies here in Nigeria. And they have a staff strength of over 270 workers, 95% of staff are an indigene of the state.
This Shopping Mall was the talk of the town right from inception as everyone was confused about what the building was going to be used for. Citizens were sometimes caught talking about the building as it attracts pass by.
Opening Ceremony
Among the attendees were the Villagers, Village heads, Elders of the Community, and Special assistants to the State Governor to witness the Opening Ceremony. People went out in their troops and their cliques so as to have someone to laugh and make merry with.
The DJ
The atmosphere was quite lovely as it was neither rainy nor sunny.
The event kicked started at dot 4 pm Nigerian time with a musical interlude by the DJ that was brought by the organizers.
The building was locked until the Chairman of the ceremony cuts the ribbon. As a tradition in Ibibio land, canopies were positioned outside for the villagers to sit while tents were built for special guests whom the coordinators of the event invited.

To Mr. Bassey who owned tantalizer, it was another investment towards the future because the community was a developing one, but to the villages, it was a lifetime experience as not just will they be having a place like that in the community but also another opportunity for them to see top governmental officials at a close range.
As a way of showing appreciation, the village head arranged for the village dancers and drummers to contribute to the entertainment of the occasion.
The CEO of Everyday Foods Group(EFG) and tantalizer encouraged patronizes to continue their good works in the community and also applauded the village head and his cabinet for helping the Governor of the state to turn a rural area into a recognized settlement, he further pleads the villagers for their supports.
“I want to thank you all for honoring this day, most of you left your businesses to this occasion just to make this occasion a success. I want to please use this opportunity to plead with you all to stand by me and my team, we want you to patronize us, as goods are going to be sold out at very affordable prices.
I want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to invest here and I can assure you that, your youths would be employed, we still have over 50 slots for employment apart from the 150 which we have already employed”.
The Special Assistant to the State Governor Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr who also represents the governor thanks the Villagers for allowing such investment to come to their land and further mentioned that if they continued with such acts, the whole village in no time will become a recognized City.

After the speech, the Shopping mall was commissioned as the ribbon was cut and declared opened by the Special Assistance to the State governor Mr. Finbarr, and he mentioned in a loud voice that “Tantiler” is opened.
During the closing remark, Mr. Bassey who owned Tantalizer made it clear to the public that Everything Sold here would be up for a 75% discount.

The Governmental invitees left the premises after 20minutes of Commissioning and the DJ keeps rolling the Music while sharing gifts was ongoing. People stayed the night and left.
