in hive-111300 •  last month  (edited)

Hello people of Steem and Steemit,

It's a new week, welcome to the 119th edition of “The interview showcase...." and my 43rd show for 2024.

If you are new to this page, this lifestyle program has many educational values. A weekly interview of users in the blog concerning some trending topics on the Steemit platform. And tips that can help other Steemians to progress positively and help boost the Steem’s growth.

It will help you to get to know more about Steemians around the globe and even Steem and Steemit itself.

I take time to look at some of the most important topics in the blockchain and have a chat/call with Steemians who have a greater idea about those topics.

They also share some tips that can help other users understand the blockchain and correctly use it. Sometimes they seek valuable suggestions here to help them solve some of their challenges.

On this week's show, I had some great moment with @ratelmay, a Nigerian blogger who is taking the right path to grow by sticking to originality even at his early stage. He is a phone repair technician in Nigeria and has been so mean for some positive growth. Interestingly, I brought him to Steem 3 years ago as you can read here.

Ubongudofot
: Hi Ratel, welcome to my show. How would you describe yourself in few sentences?

🔶Ratelmay: Goodmorning Sir and thank you for inviting me to your show, I consider this a big privileges to appear here. About me? I am on an adventure in life and here in the blog -I like to follow the path of my joy and curiosity to see where life takes me to. I am a young hardworking person who only hope for a better world after the rainy days.

Ubongudofot
: Why did you choose this your nickname?

🔶Ratelmay: 😀 I chooses the nickname @ratelmay because Ratel was my dad's nickname, he was a fearless man in the community who always stand for what is right and against oppression, he was good to humanity, I want to maintain that legacy. And I attached 'May' to the name because, May is my birth month.

And do you know that Ratel otherwise known as the "Honey badger" is a fearless animal who can fight with dangerous animal irrespective of their small nature? That's what I represent. And that's what my name is all about - FEARLESS.

: What can you say about your experience so far in the blog

🔶Ratelmay: For now, I am just starting. Somedays I am super busy at my shop repairing phones and whenever I have chance I do seat up to write a post. Usually one post do take me 3 days to complete - that is if I have to make some additional research. I am aware that here requires original contents, I invest most of my time to create original and interesting contents. It has been great and fun-learning from other people and also a great opportunity of meeting interesting personalities and also making new friends with people all over the world.

Ubongudofot

🔶Ratelmay: It was the moment I advertised a certain Ponzi scheme in Nigeria with my full chest without knowing, unfortunately, after two weeks of extensive advertisement on my social media handle, their site was down. Meanwhile, I have already tell close friends and they invested a lot of money. But guess what? The money was all gone.

Ubongudofot
: When’s the last time you cried?

🔶Ratelmay: The day my Dad died and the day he was buried.

Ubongudofot
: If there was something you could un-do in your life today, what would it be?

🔶Ratelmay: I love to read and write. But mostly I love to watch YouTube videos on Phone techs

Ubongudofot
: If you could change one thing in Nigeria, what would it be, and how would you go about making that change?*

🔶Ratelmay: I would focus on improving access to quality education. And to make this change, I would:

  • Collaborate with NGOs to install solar in secondary schools like you are doing in Uyo here and may God bless you and the Steem community for achieving all these memorable projects.
  • Mentor young Nigerians to become education advocates.
  • Encouraging young Nigerians to learn various skills. It pays to learn skills.

Ubongudofot
: If you could have dinner with any Nigerian historical figure, who would it be and why?

🔶Ratelmay: I'd love to dine with Fela Kuti, the legendary musician and activist. He fought for social justice and used his music to speak truth to power. I'd ask him about his experiences, inspirations, and advice on using art for change.

Ubongudofot
: Who would you like me to feature on my next interview showcase and why?

🔶Ratelmay: Honestly, I am beginning to make new friends. Even though sometimes I comment on their post and they they don't respond, so I wouldn't really know much people yet, but the few that have responded to me like @pennsif, they look like an old timer with a lot of experience, gathering all the activities in the blog in one place called "Steem News", thats's so easy to peep what's going on around the blog

*** And I would also like to read your own interview, you should also feature yourself for others to learn from you.***

Ubongudofot
: What is your favorite music?

🔶Ratelmay: Trust me, this question is very difficult to answer because I love a lot of music. But maybe, for the sake of this interview, I would mention my recent downloads. It's a song from Phyno titled - Back Outside. I might do a cover freestye of the song soon.

Ubongudofot
: I love it!

Ubongudofot
: Do you have any message for the Steemit team?

🔶Ratelmay: I haven't met them just yet, but I have seen some of their activities in the blog to assist people and also govern the blog. I think they should pay attention to every little details and complaints by users and take necessary actions as everyone is watching and learning. If I see more things, I would mention.

Ubongudofot
: What do you think about the Interview Showcase? Is it an interesting initiative, and should it be continued?

🔶Ratelmay: I would say yes with all amount of joy. I think it's a better way to promote other users and to also read about others in the blog. I think initiative like this should be continued in the blog while we keep reading about our friends background.

Ubongudofot
: Thank you very much Ratel for your time, it was nice to have you on my show.
