Keke
I am delighted to present my thoughts on the wonderful contest topic organised by @fantvwiki.
Sometimes, I wonder how our forefathers were able to make do with the few means of transportation in the olden days. Transportation is a major part of our everyday life, one we cannnot do without.
First, before I get down to business, let me explain what transportation is all about.
Transportation is the movement of people and conveying of goods and services from one point to another.
Where do you live now, is it accessible?
Currently, I stay with my parents in Umuahia, Abia State. It is a calm city full of civil servants and few traders going on about their business activities. Our major means of transportation is via road, you would often see people going on the activities by trekking, bicycle, tricycle(popularly known as Keke), and mini buses.
What means of Transport do you use, public or private? Explain it to us.
I use public transport as I don't have a car of my own. Usually when I go out, I can easily find a keke along the road or come out to the junction assumed as park to get one. At the junction, you will see lots of tricycle drivers waiting for passengers.
Tell us about the activities that you use with these transports in your daily life?
The activities that involves me using a keke or bus is when going to work, to buy some foodstuffs from the market, to run an errand, or to visit a friend.
What is the brand or what is name of the transport you use, and if it is public transport what is your daily cost to use it?
The brand I use are both called Keke and Mini Buses. When going to work, I usually take 2 drops before I can get to my office. The first stop for #100 and the second stop for #200 making it #300 per trip. It is cost having to spend #600 every day, going and coming back from work.
What is the fuel used and how much is the unit price of liters and is it easy to buy the fuel?
Presently, there is scarcity of fuel in my area. You will see cars and kekes cued up waiting for their turn to buy some fuel. Some filling stations sell a litre at #350 #400, or even #450. Black market sell theirs for #600.
Without these means of transportation, mivement woulf have been tough.
