"Every year, 2 million people die from infectious diseases that could be prevented if they had access to, and made use of hand washing facilities" - WHO, 2020.

They go on to say that about 30% of the world's population (2.4 billion people) do not have access to soap an water with which to wash their hands.

Most of the people who die due to infections spread by failure to wash hands are children, accounting for over 70% of all cases.

It therefore is very important for us to incorporate hand washing into our daily activities.

Hands are to be washed anytime they are visibly dirty,
➖ After using the toilet,
➖ Before and after eating
➖ Before and after handling food stuff
➖ Before and after handling all forms of waste
➖ After touching something that is likely touched my a large number of persons such as a door handle in a public place
➖ After changing a baby's diapers or napkins
➖ After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
➖ Before and after treating a wound or cut.

Practicing this will considerably break the chain of spread of infectious diseases.

How often do you wash your hands?
