Oh, Mummy!
My last day at home was the last day I smiled,
Though I covered those smiles with my stony heart,
I loved the kind of love you had loved us with,
But I couldn't help chasing after the wind of the deserts.
Mummy, I remember the tears your pretty eyes suffered,
And how the hem of your favorite wrapper became a duster,
I remember how you always knelt beside your bed praying for us.
But the answers to prayers were stolen by one strong force.
Regret upon regret are the thoughts I fail to reject,
The emblem of bad luck, they now sit on my thin neck,
Mummy, in case you come for me here and you don't find me,
Know that I've joined the waters that go under the bridge.
The months, the years, the moments wasted,
The seconds that counted, the minutes that added,
They are the pictures I now hang on my empty shelf,
And in them lies the bones of my pitied self.
Oh Mummy!
Hi @crymi, thanks for sharing Broken Tears with us.
There is nothing greater in the world than the feelings that one has for our mothers.
Have a nice day.
